Ummm...a little bit of a love lost...story...

Oh...and grace found...

Choosing

I stood before the window
with my eyes affixed outside
Watched the autumn raindrops
fall as tears from out the sky

As I stood there wondering
whose tears that they might be
A thought wound slowly in my mind
pray…cry a tear for me

For all the wretched sorrow
The love that may have been
All the rains that ever were
Please cry one more again

I stood upon a precipice
hoped that I might fall
A wind sprang up and pressed me back
A voice far off there called

It spoke and said that loneliness
that hurt…though like a friend
Would peddle lies and dishonesty
Would break me in the end

Deep within my mind there stirred
Deep in my heart abode
A feeling and a thought so pure
Twas grace…the gift bestowed

Another round of raspberries...please...

Beautifully written! Do you write daily? Do you have a journal full? When did you start writing? What made you want to be a poet?

Ummm...Hello Nat...I would love to be able to write daily...sadly there are times that I go months locked in the thrall of writers block...as for journal...do you mean journal's...?
...cause I have veritable scads of them...I've been writing poetry for a long...long...looooong...time...I started writing about the age of twelve...I'll post one of my first poems for you...I've also lost whole notebooks worth of poems...One in the trunk of a car I sold...others to moves...other poems to family members and old girl friends...I used to just give them away...

I can't remember ever wanting to be a poet...
I just could not get those nagging words to stop flooding my mind...until I wrote them down...it was more a defense mechanism than anything else I suppose...

If you met me on the street you would never in a million years...guess that I wrote prose and rhyme...

I'm not just anonymous here on the boards...I'm anonymous in my own skin...
