Sorry it took so long. I just should have waited.

Here is the link for the earthquake I was talking about. This one really stuck out to me because of where it's at.

Thank you TA, for the post (and background explanation). There is a very short list of posters whose posts make me take notice...believe me, you have my attention on Chile.

My rainmeter earthquake map shows a recent 4.7 quake, 10km depth, 90km WNW of coquimbo chile.

I think it occurred about 2 hours ago.

I would've thought that similar to Japan, Chile'
would have the large quake down by now, structurally
speaking. Most indicative of the difference between
world class nations.

I wonder what this all means. Are they foreshocks or just a series /swarm of quakes? strznge to have two 6.9's about an hour apart.

Well it's a very active region and it might just be this is where the pressure needed to release itself.

Definitely something to keep an eye on.
Hopefully there's no big tsunami or a mega quake rocking the region.

Thanks for the updates TA.

I've not been on ATS much lately but earthquakes are something I'm always interested in, being I live on the ring of fire.

By the way I do think it's interesting to note these big quakes always seem to coincide with increased solar activity. Not that there's any scientific proof of that. Seems to make sense if the magnetic field is acting up though.

Anyone catch it yet? A 5.0 just hit in Peru in nearly the exact spot I imagined it would because of the "harbinger" quake on the East Pacific Rise. My map from my last post, wondering if this would happen:

And today's map:

Pretty freaky, huh?
