Ska wise anything by the Specials.

Punk wise John Lydon at his most sneering, early PIL days.

Cool!

My dad got me into Judge Dread when I was a wee lad...

Don't know if it ages well, but it was the only Ska music I'd listen to.

Dunno if I can share it, it's a bit rude.

This may help you on your journey to find new bands!

Every Noise at Once

This is an ongoing attempt at an algorithmically-generated, readability-adjusted scatter-plot of the musical genre-space, based on data tracked and analyzed for 1387 genres by The Echo Nest. The calibration is fuzzy, but in general down is more organic, up is more mechanical and electric; left is denser and more atmospheric, right is spikier and bouncier.

Sorry to hog your thread, just needing the company and diversion this evening.

Here's a Lady who could sing some nice ska. Her doing the ska classic Monkey Man!

Rude Girl Amy Winehouse. The Specials did a version of this, too.

Thank you all for the responses some of these bands I am familiar with while others I am not. Though I'm not a huge sex pistols fan I will check out the Johnny rotten solo stuff who knows...maybe I will like it more.

I will get back here with what I am thinking asap.

Ps I forgot all about the stiff little fingers... funny story I only ever heard of them because o fb the amazing film and novel high fidelity if you haven't seen or read it yet I highly recommend it.
