Fan the reaches

Ummm...the following is not really so much about reincarnation into your spirit animal...as it is...well...I'm sure you can figure it all out...


Fan the reaches


I seek to fan the reaches as on wing
From my throat majestic notes would sing

I cannot convey with fullness how absurd
If I should die and then become a bird

In my dreams I fly without a wing
Aloft with neither artifice or string

I yearn above and then behold the ground
Recedes beneath with only breath for sound

This wind I breathe in passing is no more
Above the all I hover and adore


This is how it always is in my dreams...I yearn to fly and there I am...soaring above all the tribulation...almost as if it had no hold on me

I do have a talent (perhaps not so rare), that is, I can recognise 'true' poetry, for want of a better word. I say that with no intention of slight or disparagement to others. I like words that are evocative, that touch me through metaphor. The words chosen too. Perhaps there is recognition of that self same enchantment. I once wrote a poem that held the line 'The everlasting song the poet sang'. I think you sing that song.
