Evidently he would call it " fox-news propaganda"

Yes, I would, but would add the caveat that it is not limited to just Fox News.

IS THE TITLE AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION? YES OR NO

What the # does it matter to you so much? The title is accurate based on the information we have currently about the event. With out the contextual background for all parties involved I'd say it's an inaccurate title until all the facts are publicly available, What I think Introvert was saying was that the media uses specific words and phrases when reporting "news" to invoke certain reactions from those who indulge it.

but I wait with bated breath expecting to hear it's a Islamic nutter gone shooter..

So this one clearly did it's affect on you.

For your viewing connivence.
ter·ror
ˈterər/
noun
1.
extreme fear.
"people fled in terror"
synonyms: extreme fear, dread, horror, fear and trembling, fright, alarm, panic
"she screamed in terror"

This is an absolute accurate discription, so you are wrong.your argument is invalid and the title is fair and not unjust or hyperbole, or even propaganda, however your view is a slanted and biased one (just admit it and move on instead of being obtuse) it's ok because I have my own bias and will readily admit it and explain why.

I have my personal beliefs, and intuitions lone wolf Islamic nutters are a real threat, and I believe it's a possibility that is the cause, however I also know it could be anyone or number of reasons and will admit to a biased in that regard but mainly because I see it as a threat to the western world, just as much if not more than our societal decay that also plays a part in random nutters and mass murders and criminal behaviors.

A FRIENDLY REMINDER....

Please stick to the topic at hand and kindly refrain from needless personal attacks towards your fellow ATSers. Every person is entitled to their opinion, and yes, their opinion and personal perspectives may differ from your own -- and that's perfectly alright.

Any further needless posturing will result in a possible time-out in the kiddie corner.

Consider this fair warning.

So by your definition of terror, if I sneeze loudly in a restaurant and scare the crap out of a sleeping baby.....I'm a terrorist.

I think I'll stick with my definition as it more adequately describes terrorism, and not some general term that can be loosely applied when it fits certain agendas.

Whatever. I don't care about your bias' or beliefs. I was just commenting on the propaganda tactic, which I still stand by. You took it to an entirely different level of nutty.

That's not a game I like to play.

You will have to forgive him. He did have to fight against the enemy and may have lost friends as a result. His bias is justified in my book, but he needs to learn to control his emotions better.

But knowing what I know from my time as a teenager not being in proper places, I can say confidently this was a dealer related homicide against a pure junkie. The point of these clinics is to clean your act.So when one is visiting it for many many years, we know they just use it for their dry days. Basers gonna base ja know??

it just helps in the labelling of Americans as terrorists.

I think that is the gist of what is being said: they call everything "terror" because its the fear inducing catch phrase. Without the word "terror", only folks in NYC would even see this story as relevant, leaving the rest of America out of the gore porn fest.

Except the article title is :
"Rush-hour terror" and not "Rush-hour terrorismterrorist" so...
Calling something a terror is not the same as calling it terrorism or a terrorist.

Which of these definitions of terror would not be applicable with the obvious exception of the reference to France on item 3.

noun
1.
intense, sharp, overmastering fear:
to be frantic with terror.
2.
an instance or cause of intense fear or anxiety; quality of causing terror:
to be a terror to evildoers.
3.
any period of frightful violence or bloodshed likened to the Reign of Terror in France.
4.
violence or threats of violence used for intimidation or coercion; terrorism.
5.
Informal. a person or thing that is especially annoying or unpleasant.

You and I agree. You have the same line of thinking as myself as I have seen in other threads. However, I do think this time it probably is just some domestic incident. It sounds like they knew each other and were seen having a disagreement before hand. However, regardless of that it is still terrifying. Terrifying for the people who were shot and terrifying for the people on their way to work in rush hour who happened to be in the same vicinity at the time. I know I would have been terrified so I would say it is correct when it says Rush Hour Terror.

I think too many people put too much emphasis on what news source something has come from and what the headline of the article is. In most news there is a truth regardless of the source. The truth here was that someone one shot in rush and as yet they haven't caught the perpetrator AND know one really knows the truth until the perpetrator is caught and taken to Court! a reply to: TechniXcality

Since there's been over a decade of MSM conditioning thanks to post 9/11 paranoia. It's just seeing the words "TERROR" in the headline of a shooting incident where you'll have people hop to the conclusion of Islamic terrorism.

The proof is all in the first response to the OP.

Guns are, with a minimum 2 years in jail for even having a handgun in your house. NYC has some of the strictest gun laws in the country and how much has it affected gun crimes? Zero. In fact, gun crimes rise every year.

Source

Police records show there were 510 people hit by gunfire this year — a 9.3% increase from the 467 people hit by bullets through May 31 of last year.
