I'm not sure if I should laugh or feel sorry for you the salesman.. I'll laugh!

jalopnik.com...

The salesman reportedly confused the clutch and brake pedals. That’s not something you want to do with a 650 horsepower Corvette Z06 on the showroom floor.

Yes, a "car sales man." Not, a "driver" or professional driver at that lol. You think KIA will hire him?

"Benny! Get your cousin out that clown suit, scary'n all the customers away!"

It just wasn't his day. I wonder if he had to pay for that or got fired or both.
That reminds me of what happened to a cleaner at a company I used to work for. For some reason the idiot got behind the wheel of a car in the showroom of a ford dealership. Mind you, this is a BIG no no. It gets worse. He turned the car on, put it gear, and I don't know how he managed to do this but drove it through the glass wall of the dealership. Yep, right through the wall. Stupid is as stupid does, I guess.

Car dealerships are masters of the write off. They'll be fine.

I like to think it was just a slow day...
and he was pretending to cruise the avenue...
getting glances from all the shorties.

Lolz.

Don't even bother looking up a 1967 big block. They can go for much more than that.

Yeah this is showroom new, though. You can spend multi million for an original Shelby Cobra, but they weren't anywhere close to that new. Under $10k.

The ZR-1's, when they first came out in the early 90's were going for about $60,000 so this is not that surprising.

I'm just surprised the new ones are that expensive. For that money, you could get an F Type Jaguar.

Vettes are not pussy cats. They move pretty aggressively when you give'em some gas. The structural repair to the show room is going to cost a dime or two , too.

How the hell you confuse the clutch with the brake? assuming its more of a european manual system your left foot controls the clutch if needed and the right foot controls the brake or accelerator, probably over revving to give it some serious noise to make a sale and slipped the clutch up (why not leave it in neutral) and whammo you'll be 20 ft in seconds which means a total idiot trying to flog a car he had no competency with

He'll say, "So...when will the new one be in? About a week?"

It could have been worse, a Ferrari say...

Some actually prefer the Vette over the Ferrari simply because of the 100K drivetrain warranty.

As far as I know the pedal configuration in Europe and Japan on Right hand drive cars is the same as the configuration in left hand drive cars. This of course could be wrong however driving in both places, that was my experience....

Poor car, it never deserved that. I clicked the link over to jalopnik only to see another link with another idiot off-roading in a Aventador.

Its a Z06, a wee bit more than the standard base model Corvette.

Spilling a cup of milk is an accident, getting into a high performance street legal racecar not knowing how to drive it is idiotic, hence the labeling of said incompetent driver, an idiot. Humans are allowed to be idiots
