Within the mirror’s depth ofttimes I see
Another mien not mine glare out at me
Arched eyebrows nostrils flared disturbingly
Expression rules out curiosity

Whose is this visage staring from the glass
What spell what pact that brought this curse to pass
A foul prank that borders on the crass
I say again that I am not this ass

Still while glancing in the mirror saw
Another mien not mine within the pane
I could not fathom frozen there in awe
What false reflection brought this change again

While standing there and staring impolite
Upon that face that I had never known
I find no comfort in that surreal light
More question there than answer I am shown
