An appeal to the mods

Site owners... I apologize if this violates any terms and/or conditions.

Clear heads will prevail. Please let ATS members discuss this openly.

I was shocked to see a thread disappear within the last couple hours. The thread discussed the E. Elias Merhige film "Begotten". The film has been on YouTube (and other sites) for years. YT doesn't even require a membership to watch it.

The dumber ATS members provided the standard, predictable ignorant comments, (it's a snuff film, it's goofy). Yet luminaries within the actual industry laud the film. Why was the thread removed?

And so another thread became dust. This one will surely join it. But while it lasts it could be fun.

Who decides which members are dumber? You?

Clearly the mods felt the need to take down the thread for what they deem as a good reason.

Perhaps asking the ATS staff from the info page would have been a better option than creating a thread challenging their decision.

Again, who decides which members are dumber?

A consensus was reached among ATS staff in response to complaints about the video.

That consensus was that the video does not belong on ATS.

We are not youtube and we do not have the same Terms and Conditions as youtube.

That explains the "disappearing thread" question.

As far as calling our members dumb... rather "dumb" itself don't you think?
