If you read more than the OP, the F-22s are doing other missions as well as patrolling. Missions that other aircraft in the area can't do, or can't do nearly as well. The F-15s free them up to continue that mission.

Because we aren't fighting the Russians. Remember?

The more aircraft you have, the more bombs you can drop. But not on the Russians.

Because, after all, the Russians are the innocents in all this. According to oh so many people.
