Foreignors who enter the United States are now subject to fingerprinting and computer scanning, this is being done at the busiest entrance points.

WASHINGTON (Jan. 3) - Foreign visitors at the 50 busiest land border crossings in 10 states are now being fingerprinted as part of the government's new biometric screening system, the Homeland Security Department announced on Monday.

The system, called US-VISIT, scans photographs of the visitor's face and index fingers into a computer, which are matched with federal agencies' criminal databases.

They are doing this as of today at 50 crossings into the US. Is it only a matter of time before every person entering the US, citizen or not, is routinely fingerprinted and scanned? I understand the basis behind this, but the scope and potential hazard to our rights scare the you know what out of me.
