Just saw a huge blue fireball or more like a very long shooting star crossing the sky in the horizon, very bright blue light lasting for 4 or 5 seconds.
Happened an half an hour ago or so.

Must have been seen by many as it was VERY bright lighting up as if daytime, it's dark here at the moment.

Will update if any news source or videos pop up.

Hm, I wonder: was Asteroid TB145 accompanied by debris?

S&F for sharing.

I only saw a streak no debris, before it went behind a building, was on my way home from a visit.

You misunderstood...

There is a asteroid wheezing by Earth right now. I am just wondering out loud if the shooting star you saw was not a debris from the asteroid.

Then you're done for. You saw the light, it will make you blind in a few hours. The rest of the population will turn to zombies, just in time for Halloween.

There was some talk about a following debris, and perhaps closer in to us, but I don't know when or how close. I'm just looking for that part of the story now .

Could be

Updated article from before.

SOURCE

The flash can be connected to the comet 'the great pumpkin' or NASA's official name in 2015 TB145, on Saturday evening at 19:01 passed Earth at a distance of 486,000 kilometers.

The comet flew with 126.000 km / h or 35 kilometers per second as it roared past.

- Although it is relatively close by astronomical standards, it is expected to be quite weak, so observers will need at least a small telescope to see it, said Paul Chodas of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory earlier today.

I had heard there may be some fireballs incoming from the asteroid.
I know it's paradolia (sp) but that pic in your link totally looks like a skull face.
Spooky is the right nickname for this object.
Anyone else notice that?

How would anyone know what the top of Cthulu's actually looked like? It's a fictional monster from a printed word story.

There is a reason NASA named it "Spooky"

That's a very fitting name lol.

I bet if people would've known it looked like a skull before today there would have been a few doom porn threads about it on here.
It is so awesome that it turns out to look like a spooky skull on Halloween. It's like something out of movie.
Good thing it didn't hit us!
