AS youth I played in the woods a lot. and lot time by myself. Around 2010 I had sighting of 3 bigfoots crossing road near Elkridge Maryland became very fascinated with Bigfoot thereafter. Some year later I had series of health problem that seem uncover some false memories or created new ones. Depending on one point of view.

BUT as youth there were times mostly when I was alone for an unknown reason I would become frighten. Eventually the terror would get to a point where I had to run. There were days were I swore something was just inched behind . IF I turn to look I would get caught. There were days were I heard noise of something following. Other days I just knew I had to run.

After my bigfoot sighting and I ventured out into the wilderness by myself. That terror returned. THE only thing I remember or notices as that all forest noises stopped.

Also as youth I remember knowing the wood really well at least the area I travelled. BUT I can remember on several occasion travel along path that I knew well and expecting a paved road and then there would be none and the look of the forest seem to not to be way I remembered it.

I remember hearing wood knocks all the time as youth. BUT I did not associate them with Bigfoot till after my 2010 sightings.

BUT I remember one day being lost following trail I had walked on numerous time ands expecting to cross a paved road. When it was beyond clear that paved road was nowhere in front of me. I retraced my steps along the same path. This usually got back. BUT I can remember at least once I remained lost know recognizing any portion of trail I was on as a path I have taken numerous times. Then hearing wood knocks and for unknown reason following the sounds of wood knocks.

AS you can imagine doing the same thing over and expecting different result is not a wise choice. BUT I believed I was on trail I had taken numerous time.

I had no proof BUT had speculated that for unknown reason some type of portal had open up and this section wood was existing in two places or two periods of time. BUT I could have easily had let my imaginary get the better of me.

MY community of randallstown I was told had very high iron materials/minerals the soil was very acidic, we had several areas where cars appeared to roll hill.

Later in life I was out jogging in alight rain along paved running trail that snaked through a wooden area. a super thick fog rolled in. I remember stepping in a puddle of water on the pavement so I side stepped to grass area. I took several more steps and I thought fro certain I was on the pavement. The fog was so thick I could not see anything in front of me.

SO I stopped. As I looked down there was NO PAVEMENT. SO I backed tracked. I do slight remember starting to panic. BUT then I heard wood knocks. This time though I believe in bigfoot. I can not imagine a bigfoot being there. BUT I did eventually find the pavement. The fog lighten little. sometime it appeared normal with trail but then it would disappear. SO I was frozen there. I remember another runner coming along. they did not stop I followed.

I imagined I could have allowed my imaginary to run wild.

Tales of people experiencing high strangeness in forested areas has made Listverse's top 5 list of bizarre phenomena, right up there with shadow people. A paranormal researcher has given the phenomena the name 'PANic in the woods', referencing the mythological Greek God Pan, who is said to be a protector of wild places.

listverse.com...
From the Listverse story:

Victims experience a feeling that there is a powerful, sinister force nearby, and sense imminent danger. This usually leads the person to flee the area, desperately seeking out civilization. One curiously common characteristic of PANic, is that people often describe the woods becoming quiet and strange just before the fear starts, except for an unusual, escalating, buzzing sound. At least one article on the phenomenon has been written for Fortean Times Magazine by Patrick Harpur, called “Landscapes of Panic”. Many other alleged actual experiences of panic have been posted on paranormal forums. Is there really a spirit of the woods that shuns humanity?

Some of the stories involve time rifts, where people literally get transported back in time. One such story involved a group of children playing hide and seek in some apple orchards. Three of the kids squeezed through a thick hedge of bushes, and we're freaked out to see an old farmhouse that "shouldn't have been there". They looked in a window and saw an old woman baking a pie. They ran home and told their parents, who thought the kids were playing a joke, but elderly relatives were astonished, as the kids described a long-gone farmhouse that stood exactly where the kids had said. (This happened in Washington state, not far from Seattle.)

I found this very strange story on a paranormal forum. It contains some elements of the 'Missing 411' stories, but thankfully the missing children were found almost immediately.

Forest Mystery:
It happened around the summer season of 2008, when I was only 7 years old. I used to live in the RAF quarters in High Wycombe, and due to the well-populated area, there were a lot of kids the same age as me.

Our mothers always gave us one rule: Never go in the forest at night. They never gave us a reason for not going in the forest, so against all our mothers' wishes, we would treck through the forest for hours on end.

Nothing ever really happened, apart from sometimes we would hear scratching on the trees, and have the urge to turn around because you would feel like someone was following you.

I have made lots of camping all my life and i have seen so many weird things, some people may think it's not true but truly some weird things happen out there. I have seen shadows that seem to watch you and move between trees when you notice them, i have also heard whispers, like people talking in weird languages and we could hear them very close like an echo but when we went looking we could never find them it just kept moving away from us, who knows but there are some very weird things going on out there

That first image of the dark figures got me spooked lol, i feel cold now, i think someone is standing behind me.. lfmao

I was always scared by those little pieces of porno mag you'd always find in clearings. Like...why not take the whole mag there and take the whole mag home! Was it just one guy? Why was he going to the woods for that? If it was his mag, why cut out a piece...if it was his dad's mag...WHY CUT OUT A PIECE? The bags with hard glue in the bottom, I understand. And the campfire and the beer cans. But those little pieces of magazine...It's paranormal!

I’ve lived surrounded by woods my whole life. Really weird stuff does happen out there, especially at night. As freaky as some of the unexplainable things I’ve seen in the woods are, I’m even more concerned these days about what humans might be lurking in the trees.

I have a woods near me. Thetford forest and I hate driving it, creeps me out.
A few experiences I've had.
1/I was driving south to my town and decided to turn off as an abandoned church was fascinating me and my sister, we carried on south down this small road, there's a huge cathedral in my town it's called the ship of the fens as you can see it for miles, we could see the cathedral in he distance in front of us so we knew we were heading south. Suddenly we go though this village, it was a perfect postcard village, perfect thatched houses, gardens full of colourful flowers (which was strange as it was autumn to late for most of the flowers and blooms ). An old rail road station perfectly painted but no train tracks. It freaked us out a bit as it was just to perfect, so we followed the road and head back for the main road we came off still heading south because theatre deal was visible in front of us then suddenly we end up at the junction we started at which would of been impossible as we would have had to of been heading north away from the cathedral.

2/ I was driving though the forest again and I just couldn't get out, I turned left and right but kept turning up at the same junction. No matter which way I went or road I took I ended up in the same spot. Took me hours to get out.
I will say I a pretty good navigator, I've had training I don't rely on sat navs and know the area. I avoid this forest like this plague now

I've experienced this phenomenon twice in my life, once when I was about 14-15yrs old and the other time I was 38yrs old. The first time this happened was in 1980 or 1981. I used to mow the neighbors yard who lived next door to my grandparents house in a small town located in Genesse County in Michigan. I lived about 5 miles from my grandparents, and when I was done mowing my grandparents neighbors yard I called my dad to come and pick me up. So while I waited for him to come and get me I decided I'd go check out the woods behind my grandparents house. This wasn't the first time I'd been in those woods, I used to go back there all the time when I was younger and never had any issues with being in those woods. Now my grandparents lived right in town and to get to the woods you had to cross a field that was about 150-200 yards across and then there were trails that led to the bank of the Shiawassee River that ran through the town. At this particular spot you were on a bluff above the river and there was a tree that had fallen across the river and it acted like a natural bridge to the other side. I cross the field and follow the very short trail into the woods. It was a bright sunny day and when I get to the spot where the fallen tree is I can see and hear the cars driving on a road probably 300-400 yards away and on the other side of where I am was the town's DPW yard and there are a couple of the DPW workers in the yard loading a dump truck with gravel or something. In other words, this wasn't a remote location, I was basically in town. Then out of nowhere this terrible sense of dread and fear just swept over me. I did hear the "buzzing" sound, but it just sounded like the cicada bugs that I've heard plenty of times before. I got the feeling that I shouldn't run, that somehow that would make whatever worse. So I just put my head down and walked as calmly out of there as I could. Thankfully the trail was short and I reemerged out in the field and I crossed it and back into my grandparents backyard. By the time I reached the backyard the feeling was gone and all seemed right again. I definitely had the feeling while in those woods that I shouldn't be there and that I better leave NOW if I knew what was best for me.

The second time happened in Shiawassee County, named after above river, the next county over to the west of Genesee County. This was in 2005 and I was 38yrs old, married and had four kids by this time. Across from the house we lived in was a field and a forest. I decided one day to take a walk to see if I could get to the Maple River. This is the headwaters of the Maple River, so it is very small and narrow, like a small creek, but further west it becomes quite large and wide. I make my way across the field and the field is high ground so at the back is a steep incline that leads to the forest and then to the river. When I get to the bottom of the incline and start making my way to the woods that feeling of dread starts to come over me, just like I had felt when I was a kid. I also had that feeling of not to run, but to just turn around and leave as calmly as possible. The feeling didn't subside until I got back up the incline and back into the field. Between the first and second experience I had been in woods numerous times alone and never had this feeling, only these two times has it happened.

The woods have always had that uneasy feeling in it. While most of the time it is just the mind, the unknown is what I think scares us the most. I remember going to find some supposedly haunted house in KY in the woods, and while getting there I remember being in absolute fear of the woods itself. Once we got to the house I dreaded leaving the house and going back through the woods then anything else.
