I've seen injured animals seek human help a few times so it wouldn't surprise me if this deer thought it could get help at a hospital where all the humans seem to go when they are hurt. Even after being hit by a car driven by humans it still trusted humans enough to seek their help. Unfortunately it had to learn the hard way humans cannot be trusted.

To counter the sad here's a video of a man who saved a fawn when it injured it's leg and couldn't keep up with its mother.
I believe this footage is of him attempting to release it back into the wild. Also this seems to be looped footage I think you just watch till about 45 seconds to see it all.

It had enough consciousness (metaphysical consciousness I guess as opposed to being conscious and awake) to seek help from humans, tells me its energy was bridging between densities, I suspect when its energy cycles back it will return as a human, which would be why it was put down....to force the transition (of course the popo had no idea the universe was pulling these strings, they just behaved the way they normally would).

It's a terrible event but the more I ponder it the better I feel about that deer moving on to the next adventure in the grand scale of things.

I saw this! I thought about posting this... he bottle feeds the baby and makes a leg splint from an oatmeal can and the baby gets stronger each day,

The male dog becomes a "Foster dad" taking care of the baby and playing with it and not letting it wander off. Then the guy eventually finds the real mother, but doesn't have his camera with him at the time , but later catches up with them to show them all playing, living happily.

Thank God he did not give up on that little fawn!
Here is the full video:

Survival of the fittest?

Surely, after being wounded by human endeavour, and being smart enough to go to a place where injured humans wind up, this deer warranted better than a bullet to the brain pan? Is there no compassion, no soul in people anymore? What the hell is the matter with folk nowadays?

I can understand hunting for food. I can understand killing to survive, but killing an animal that knows well enough to go looking for help? I fear for the species we are members of, if this is the best we can do.

It should've walked into a bar....

The sheriff's office had two deputies that happened to be at the hospital when the deer wandered in.

As soon as I read that I knew it was dead.
