You Linger Here

You linger here...
Your presence Is everywhere.
A faded memory from my past,
A love that was never meant to last.
The subtle scent of your sweet perfume,
Permeates each and every room...

You linger here...
Your presence is everywhere.
A dim reflection of love withdrawn,
But I can't move on, I just can't move on.
The violin you used to play everyday,
Sits silently, the last place it was laid...

You linger here...
Your presence is everywhere.
A faded snapshot of another time,
That constantly plays within my mind.
My heart breaks each time I find something new,
It seems most everything reminds me of you....

I remember reading this last year and

I understand that this is likely a poem for lovers.

It is so much deeper than that, for me personally.

Thank you for writing!
