Saudi clerics call for jihad against Russia in Syria – to back ISIS?

"Dozens of Saudi Arabian clerics not officially affiliated with Riyadh have urged Muslims to support the fight of “holy warriors” against Syria’s government and its Iranian and Russian allies. The clerics are outraged by Russia’s bombing of Islamic State.

Fifty-five Saudi Arabian ‘opposition’ clerics and academicians, including some prominent Islamists, have signed a joint online statement urging “true Muslims” to “give all moral, material, political and military” support to the fight against Syrian President Bashar Assad’s army as well as Iranian and Russian forces."

The article continues with the following statement:

"The group brands the Russian involvement as 'an orthodox crusade' and calls on anti-Assad fighters to 'unify their front' and stay in Syria. It also uses sectarian terms for Iran and the Shi’ite Alawite sect to which Assad belongs.

“The Western-Russian coalition with the Safavids [Iran] and the Nusairis [Alawites] are making a real war against the Sunni people and their countries,” the text says."



Although the article is dated Oct 7th, 2015, I have yet to see an article posted on ATS concerning an Islamic clerical response to Russian action in Syria since Russian involvment against IS, ISIL began in Syria in early October; Surprised that perhaps no one caught this but evidently, there is strong opposition by clerical (Sunni) authorities in the Middle East to strong aggressive Russian involvement and activity..


Just how important is this call to Jihad against Russia, "The Orthodox Crusaders," going to be?

I can never understand why dying in a conflict against others somehow makes you a "holy warrior". There is nothing holy about there cause or ours for that matter.

One has to wonder why these so called clerics don't pack up there troubles and enter the war zones themselves to fight rather than encouraging children and young impressionable adults to do there dirty work for them?

Possibly something to do with the fact that the crap bags cannot fight sleep themselves and need like boys to do there unholy dirty work for them.

They should put up or dam well shut up if you ask me.

The more it passes the more doubts about Sep 11 increase. Was not Saud family the mother of Al-Qaeda ! still Bin Laden company is active in Saudi Arabia, the crane collapsed on Sep 11 and killed hundreds in Mecca blonged to Bin Laden family, the suspiciouse murder of thousands of pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, in Mena, these are all related to each other.
