Wow that's strange , don't know what it is but suspect some kind of firework display.

Similarly…

I used to tie various (safe and sane) fireworks to strings on helium balloons, sending them up with cigarettes added to the fuse. If done right they delay the initiation of whatever firework until they were high in the sky and a ways down wind.

Yeah fire works seem to be the most probable explanation

Exactly what it looks like to me as well. Some sort of fireworks.

My first thought was some sort of fireworks display. The sparks shooting out don't strike me as some highly advanced ufo propulsion system.

'That would mean 15+ people went out with drones, flew them almost next to each other pretty high yp and attached lights to them that go on and off all in perfect synchronization with the maneuvers.'

Why do you say that

Drones would be the absolute last thing I would consider this being..but usually in threads like this when the OP explains why it can't be this or that, it usually ends up being this or that.

For example "These can't be balloons because..." Balloons.

So, I'm sorry I have to do this, but....

Drones.

it's ET spaceships. They come here all the time. Not because of the great civilization here but because it is to them like watching a crappy B movie. A bit of a cult thing.

Looks a lot like military flares.

Looks someone having a party let go a bunch of those Chinese sky lanterns to me.

Chinese Lanterns that choreograph their normally random flight path? Jeez.

So, this to me was looking more and more like parachute jumpers with pyrotechnics, which caused me to do a little more research.

Middletown, Ohio has a parachute team called Team Fastrax. And they just so happen to do nighttime pyrotechnics as well.

Here's a brief video showing a few moments of their nighttime pyrotechnics:

I'm going to go with Team Fastrax doing some nighttime practicing, or they were doing a show somewhere.

skydivers at night with lights

Where the heck do you get parachutes that hover ? I'd like to see that article. I don't have a clue what it is but please find the link if you can. Thanks.

Use your Zoom feature and you will debunk your own post. No way those are lanterns.

You expect the media to finally tell the truth? The media's truth embargo lives on...

Purty cool..

I would have said fireworks, but they move too slow.

Definitely not Chinese lanterns.

You can see distinctly their flight paths and they start off bright and then dim sort of like some fireworks but much slower and confined in a smaller space.

nice find.

I agree -- skydivers with flares.

They only drift slowly side to side and downward -- never up.

oh good lord.
I know I heard something on the local news either over the weekend or monday morning on wkrc cincinnati.
but their search engine totally sucks and after 45 min of farting around i can't find anything now.
so it's aliens.
sorry just frustrated.
I don't believe everything the news says anyway.
and wth were ppl parachuting at night for anyway.

For the same reason fireworks are set off when it's dark. Light shows look much more impressive when it's dark than during the day.

They were skydivers doing a night dive. This would have been Sat Oct 17 around 11pm.

Yes, I was outside watching them. Yes, I saw the lights on the plane that they jumped out of. The video doesn't show it but they actually fired off fireworks after some maneuvers. Sorry, I didn't shoot any video. Sorry you guys missed seeing it live because it was pretty cool. To top it off, a friend was celebrating her 40th that night so we said Happy Birthday Joni.

Quick summary of the news report...
Anchorwoman starts out showing the clip from social media, as posted by the OP.
Does some digging and finds out it WAS a parachute team, the Arizona Skyhawks.
They were doing a night jump with pyrotechnics as a demo at a local hot air balloon show.

The news video is well worth the watch, just for the few seconds of footage taken from vantage point of the diver, looking down on the balloon show as he's coming in for landing.

Great Post, S&F! And great find on the news report, too, Benice!
