A US Navy F-18 jet has crashed in the Fens in Cambridgeshire, close to an RAF base.
Emergency services are at the scene on farm land in Redmere, near Ely, close to the Suffolk border.
A spokeswoman from RAF Lakenheath said the jet had gone down four miles from RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk.
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: "We are currently at the scene of a plane crash on farmland in Redmere, Ely.
"Details are sketchy at this stage and it is not known if there are any casualties."

Story just breaking by the looks of it, Another US aircraft has crashed in the east of the UK. Anyone know if there is any history of problems with these aircraft?
