The F-35 ejection seat is already safer than existing ejection seats. That's before this problem is fixed. Put someone light in an F-15 or F-16 and they will have the same issue.

The fix is already known and will take some time to implement. Therefore this fiasco actually points out an advantage of the F-35 and the fix is simple.
