Not paying the fee is not an arrestable offense. What they can and will do is confiscate any monies you may have when doing your taxes but they cannot arrest you or freeze/go after your accounts (IE put a lien on it).

At least, that is what I understood as far as repercussions. Could be wrong thou, the reading in it is convoluted on purpose.

This is true UNTIL they take you to court and a federal judge orders you to pay. Then, if you still refuse to pay, you can be (and will be) arrested on a bench warrant for violation of a court order. The US has figured out how to do an end around on the "No debtor's prison" laws... they simple use a judge.

Aren't taxes paid to the IRS?

Why are we paying a tax to an insurance company?

And I'm very shocked that NO REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE is running on an eliminate Obamacare platform.

No. They're all running on a smarter government, not less government. The establishment likes its power. Why do you think we all hate the establishment? It's a nice vote vehicle. If they get rid of it, what other issue will they get us to hate cycle after cycle?

I would love a judge.... See my above post... As all judges take an oath to uphold the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land. Bailiff, I am giving you a lawful order to remove that felon from the bench.

Millions will be hung with the terrific fines that will be impossible to pay because they could not afford any kind of medical insurance at all. How does the government expect to collect its fees when those people have no money to pay them and never will?

Answer: they will be given a list of excuses to choose from to escape the penalties and, thus, a free insurance. The cost of that free ride being carried by those that do have insurance.

Obviously it will take a health care worker -to be the one to turn you in- to the health care police? How ironic!

I don't mind paying my fair share-at the time of service- just like eating a cheeseburger...
when my cheeseburger costs too much, I go without. I will live to die tomorrow.

Go ahead and penalize me for going without, why don't ya'?
It's not my health that is bad, it's the cheeseburgers that I crave...

It is my civic duty not to take part in this scam. They can try to extort me for the money, but at the end of the day I will gladly pay 700$ or so to not take part in his abomination of a system. We all have a civic duty to resist this kind of thing...in fact I think some of the founders of our nation would do more than encourage it. I only wish I could say the 700$ they do steal from me wouldn't go to paying for those who have supported this broke ass system in the fist place...but we all know that won't be the case.

Interesting you say that. It appears the IRS is collecting SS numbers from health insurance providers to confirm who is covered, and who is not and will be penalized.

The insured are the health care police.

I received this from my health insurance carrier (Anthem), last week:

Are there any actual supporters of Obamacare? I can't believe anyone would be that stupid. I am not against free healthcare in theory, but Obamacare is terrible no matter which way you lean politically.

Just be happy that it`s only a fine, give it a few more years and they will start throwing people in jail for not having insurance.

Yes, they're the people who could only understand the word "FREE" in front of "medical care". Students thought they would be exempt. So did those on low incomes as well as those here illegally. Those on high incomes thought they would be able to keep their existing plans. Public sector unions got their members exemptions.

Just have a question. Did anyone honestly not see obamacare or whatever you want to call it becoming unaffordable, not helping with service because it didn't deal with costs or the penalties?? Honestly, raise your hand if you followed the yellow brick road thinking the people pushing this were helping anyone but their insurance friends.

Ben Carson is.

Article

"I am deeply disappointed by the Supreme Court’s ruling today," Carson, a retired pediatric neurosurgeon, said in a statement. "Obamacare fundamentally increases the power of the government over the people and healthcare providers.

"While I resent what the court has done, it only causes me to work even harder to make sure the next president will repeal and replace Obamacare with sensible consumer-empowering solutions that remove the government from the patient-doctor relationship," he said.

He has also said that Obamacare is the worst thing to happen to this country since slavery. He has also said Obamacare robs you of your ability to control your own life, that it puts our healthcare in the hands of bureaucrats and that it should be in the hands of the people.

I believe Jeb has also said he would repeal Obamacare if elected, but I would prefer that no one votes for him.

Stop filing income tax at all. I did 10 years ago. I don't care that I have thousands in refunds lost.. I am not playing the game anymore at all.
Vote none of the above if you want to take America back.

Take it to the next step and don't create the voluntary withholding 'agency' between you and employer with that stupid form 4, aka "Voluntary Withholding Agreement" and you won't be giving the govt an interest free loan up front to just have some returned later at a loss.

You are playing the game if you are feeding the beast thousands of dollars each year. The game really isn't a choice. Your options are win, lose, or draw. It sounds like you have chosen to lose? Most people I know with your mindset chose draw, which is to attempt to get to a point where your flow into the beast equals the flow out. My choice is to win, because I make a point to remove as much money from the beast as possible. Most people do consent to taxes up to 100% of their money, so I have no objection to taking that money. As for the other 10% that is stolen money since the population has the perspective it is being taken against their will, I do make an effort to give money back to that group.

And while my morals are not perfect, I do believe if 30% believed taxation was immoral, I would be giving back that percentage back to tax objectors who pay taxes out of a feeling they are being extorted.

just trying to figure out where all the people are on ATS who told us how great this would be, and up until recently still defending this whole scam with baited breath........

Where are ya guys? Still liking this? This still a great idea? Is this ANY more affordable to people who couldnt afford health care?

The people I know that couldnt afford it before, DAMN sure cant now, AND they are getting fined......

How is this whole thing not criminal enough to prosecute?
