Hi

The French Ambassador to Russia has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry after a French Air Force fighter jet came dangerously close to a Russian aircraft carrying State Duma speaker Sergey Naryshkin.

All I can say is if true this is a dangerous development.

France denies.

Typical poor journalism from RT.com. They cannot even put up a picture of a French fighter! That's an Italian Typhoon!

At least that's the pic at 1621 UK time.

No more than other incidents involving Russian fighters.

"The ambassador was informed of Russia's deep concern over what happened. It was underlined that such actions by Paris undermine the possibility of using France as a venue for conducting international meetings and talks," the ministry said.

What?

That's a Eurofighter Typhoon...as in 'European Typhoon'.

Last i heard both France and Italy were in Europe and both use the same aircraft, among others.

Looks like an Italian roundel on the fuselage to me, not French.

Much ado about nothing.

The French have Mirages and Rafales . There are not Eurofighters in the French air force.

It was a Swiss F-A-18 involved in the incident not a French plane.

Crikey. RT.com obviously have their eyes on ATS as they have changed the photo. It's now a big building!

They have also said the jet was not French!

How to change a story!

Yea, curious how because it's a "eurofighter" that means all European countries use it?

Weird. I couldn't find France on any list of operators for the Euro Typhoon.

Shame such a wildly inaccurate comment got so many stars.

Considering all the false stories they gave over its invasion of Ukraine and MH17 I am not surprised. France was recently called out by France for whatever reason, not to mention their sale of the 2 helicopter carriers to Egypt (originally built for Russia).

Russia holds the UNSC President position this month.. Politics as usual.
