If you really understand nature then you would realise that we as species have risen above our animal instincts and evolved an understanding of how to live in unison with her, not leach and rape her resources like basic animal species.
Not everyone feels like this yet but the tipping point is almost reached and survival of the fittest, (capitalism), will no longer exist We are moving towards the pack animal mentality we are and becoming a socialist world at a fantastic speed. the whole NATURE of the world is changing.

Personally, I've always had the idea that the term was used to refer to a religion which would take the place of Christianity, as such a hugely powerful and popular force in the western world. Even our anscestors way back were capable of recognizing that no one, and no system, of any sort (be they political or religious) remains in power indefinately- they each have their times of power, and then that changes. They fall and another takes their place. Such is the way of life.

So even way back they were already dreading the moment their turn would be over, and another would rise. So they used the term "anti christ". It is not a person, or a nation, it is another ideology and religion.

I also suspect that Islam may be that next big religion. It is rising with the same sort of tactics and patterns christianity once did, and even has much in common with the Christian religion at the times it was taking it's throne!

But another thing to remember it that too, passed... From being violent, tyrannical, strict, paternalistic and misogynist, with lots of self sacrifice and daily martyrism demanded, it spread, and became more diffused... less concentrated, and less extreme with time.

America has been highly motivated by Christianity, I can hardly consider it's expansion as one of being anti-christian. More like Christianity's final spasm at it's end.

Ummm you do realize that the 10 was summed up to 3 for christians and gentiles correct? IF you do these three you follow the ten. its basically pschological to help people out. ALso we dont have to keep the sabbath. Thats a hebrew/jew thing. Remember where the 10 commandments were in the bible. OT is addressing the HEBREW/jewish people. It states it in the OT who it is for.

this whole syria debacle basically is just proving that the usa has ulterior motives for being in syria.

if they were serious about fighting isis, they would not be trying so hard to paint putin as some sort of maniac who is aggressively attempting to prop up an 'illegitimate' (that the majority of the syrian people actually want in power...) government. russia has achieved 100x more in one week than the usa has done in an entire year. the usa has been focusing on overthrowing assad instead of fighting isis, probably about .02% of their attacks have been on isis and the rest on the syrian government. regardless of whether assad is an effective leader, he was elected, and while the country is being so violently fought over there is no way this is a good time to topple a government as it opens the door wide open for some extremist unsavoury group to take charge instead, which is probably what the usa wants.

once again, the usa claims to have the same objective as russia - destroy isis. if they were legit about this, they would in fact welcome the russian intervention as more firepower is never a bad thing when trying to destroy an enemy. so why the bitchin? its clear they are just angry that now their master plan to topple assad and support isis in order to throw the middle east into even more chaos has been foiled.

i don't see this ending well. there's too many groups involved with personal vendettas against the rest. it's a total mess, the allegiances are confusing & most seem more intent to create trouble amongst themselves for personal reasons rather than focusing on what is supposed to be the main objective; contain and destroy isis.

Not to mention, even for atheists, over half of those commandments are (or at least should be) common sense.
