How much further left will it swing before it swings back? We've gone quite a ways already under Obama.

I don't know..maybe what happened in France under Luis XIV? Something has to be done about the wealth, over the past 3 plus decades, being funneled to the top. When there is no longer a middle(as they are being pushed to the bottom) the top of the pyramid will inevitably collapse to bottom as well.

He may have, but I notice that none of the big problems everyone whines about got any better under Obama. In fact, they got worse. Not only that, but some of the same reasons, we conservative/libertarians didn't like Bush much ... we really didn't like Obama for.

Something that needs to be pointed out here:

In a capitalist society, there will always be some degree of wealth inequality, particularly in one like ours where extended families do not live under the same roof anymore. The young typically tend to start out with little and as they work their way up in life, they save and acquire wealth. During a span of their most productive years, they can expect to be at least solidly middle class if not in a somewhat higher bracket.

During those times, they plan for their retirement. As they retire, their income drops and they drop down a bracket, maybe more, but if they were wise during their top years, they should be cushioned from falling to the poorest levels.

When our society is mismanaged by government, this order is distorted. And that's what we see. The young are not able to move into the producing sector because there are no jobs. The old cannot leave the producing sector because they can't afford to.

This is not a rich/poor problem, but at government problem a mismanagement of the economy problem.

I think Democrats are lovely people...All they want to do is give us FREE stuff, that nobody has to pay for...and all we have to do is vote for them.
Who doesn't want FREE Stuff?

Everybody wants free stuff. Even I want free stuff. Too bad there isn't really any free stuff.

So do you agree with the article premise? Are THESE the politicians we deserve?

Yes, absolutely. Politicians, the government, the police, and any corporation, are composed of our neighbors and fellow citizens.

You're right. Just like the pigs were simply the other animals of Animal Farm.

Really, when you compare that to the republican debates? You have a major looney and bully as a leader in the Republican polls!! The republican debates were a circus. All they did was attack each other and never addressed the real issues that affect the majority of Americans.

For those of you too lazy to google Venezuela:

An article on how successful Venezuela has been at eliminating income inequality
oxfamblogs.org...

How well socialism is going in Venezuela:
thesaker.is...
hotair.com...

Here are the joys of living in a socialist utopia that has eliminated income inequality
www.reuters.com...
www.cnn.com...
www.businessinsider.com...

Like what you read?
Think Sanders is spot on in bringing this to the US,
Then vote for Sanders or Hillary,
since the US is so much larger than Venezuela,
the success seen in the articles will be as proportionately large.

Go Democrats!
Go Socialists!

Read the articles and use them to back up
all the reasons we should vote for Sanders and Hillary,

because their policies
(the policies Sanders and Hillary are wanting to enact)
are the policies that made Venezuela what it is today!

Nothing can get fixed with private central banking. Having every dollar printed put a nation in debt is the problem. The US debt is $154,000 per tax payer.

If a nation imports more then it exports and pays usury on every dollar printed I don't care how far right or left the nations financial policies lean, the nation will collapse.

A financial system based on Usury, mathematically must export more than it imports or collapse in a mountain of debt. There is no other end to a system based on debt and usury.

Let us present facts about the economic situation in the world instead of left/right BS.

Venezuela is not in crisis because of Socialism. Venezuela is in crisis due to a corrupt financial system.

The only thing keeping America not looking like Venezuela has nothing to do with Capitalism verse Socialism.

Obviously it suits a greater purpose to keep the charade of smoke and mirrors going in America while letting Venezuela collapse.

Deny Ignorance

Oh, a make believe fantasy future where there are no wars and no money yet they are firing phasers at stuff when they are not at a starbase spending credits?
It sounds pretty awesome when you put it like that.

Go Sandlary!

Wait.

Now Now James, don't go splitting hairs. Here, I've changed the thread title to reflect the reality of the last 50 years......

US Politicians Are Godless Heathen Tyrant Maniacs and US voters keep voting them into office as POTUS

So, in 2016 when and if you vote, let us once again add that winner to the list of assholes that fiddle whilst Rome burns.

Unless of course, one thinks that this time, THIS TIME, things will change for the better - you know, like doing the same thing over and over and over and somehow expecting a different result.

LOL

They were asked question that invited them to attack each other. CNN promoted their debate as a giant fight from the start, and with their candidates getting shellacked at the polls, the establishment GOP needed for their to be some kind of dust up to try to bring down the outsiders a peg or three.

The Democrats don't have that problem. They needed to prop up their establishment candidate against the outsider. A fight would not have been conducive to that, so no fight was forthcoming in the questioning.

Exactamundo!

There is ALWAYS a difference between skilled, and unskilled labor wages.

The way it is meant to be.

The people who put in the time, and 'education' deserve to be paid more than someone who hasn't.

That is why a CEO deserves a higher wage than someone flipping burgers.

That's why a doctor deserve a higher wage than someone that cleans toilets.

Abolish the income tax, and fix the money would do wonders to decrease that 'gap'.
