I've always uploaded photos to ATS using my iPhone. I've never had any problems, but today while trying to upload, it keeps sourcing as a jpeg, which gets denied because the ATS upload wants img only.

This problem has never happened to me before. Does anyone know how to correct this issue so that my phone's photo library sources as IMG instead of JPEG?

Thanks in advance!

Just change 'jpeg' to 'jpg' and all will be fine.

ATS allows jpg but not jpeg for some strange reason.

Hello, thank you for your suggestion.

However, when I click "Upload",... "Select Files",... "Photo Library",... it automatically formats it as .jpeg

I don't know how to change it.

Rename the file extension before uploading?

When I click on the button to choose the files to upload it doesn't ask for a specific file type, it accepts all types.

What browser are you using?

I don't have any options to name or rename that I know about. I'm using the photo library of my iPhone. I've never had a problem uploading images until today.

I see you use shell commands

Another issue can be image size, I've had to scale down on occasion.

That is correct ... except for jpeg files. It will not upload them.

I have no idea why but changing the file extension always works.

How to change a file name on a phone is beyond me. On a PC, right click the name and select 'rename', then change the extension.

You're right, I just tried it and it says that "only image files are allowed" or something like that. I suppose the code is verifying the extension on a list of allowed file types and the list doesn't include "JPEG".

Indeed! I have noticed a solution on other sites. They just rename the extension to jpg as the image is being uploaded. Seems to work great.

jpeg seems to be one of those short lived extensions that nobody likes. It is the only 4 character extension I am aware of in pic files.

There's also "TIFF" (tagged image file format), the full name for TIF files, in the same way "JPEG" (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is the full name for JPG files.
