An A300F freighter belonging to the Egyptian carrier Tristar has crashed while attempting to land in Somalia. The flight originated in Belgium, with
a stop and crew change in Cairo.
Reports are that the aircraft made several attempts to land, and was unable to. It crashed 13 nm from Mogadishu. There were two crew members, and six
passengers on board. According to officials all survived. It appears the aircraft is largely intact, despite significant damage.
There are two different reports now. One said the aircraft had landing gear problems, while the other said the lights weren't on at the airport and
the aircraft was running low on fuel.
Either way the aircraft was deliberately crashed under controlled conditions.
One crew member was reported to have been rushed to the hospital.
