The interesting part of having a Congress that does things (this is also partially related to your previous post) is that when laws get passed, the compromise to doing so usually also involves adjusting old laws that are too burdensome, or religiously motivated, or anything else.

The proper reaction to a government out of control isn't to bring the whole thing to a halt, that just leaves the out of control structure in place. The solution is to actually do things, and as part of doing things it will improve.
