How is the economy there?

It's bad enough. And, by all appearances, the situation is getting even worse.

Welcome to this awesome community! I hope you enjoy the open debate and exchange of opinions ATS offers.

1 question for now - my father's family is from outside of what is now Kaliningrad (used to be Königsberg, East Prussia prior to WW2) and we are thinking of visiting to see where his family comes from within the next couple years.

We are both Americans (I'm in Texas), but fluent in German, and I would love to hear your opinions on the region, and any important things to consider when visiting? i.e. how we may be received as Americans?

Thanks and welcome!

I have never been there. But I did a little research, and seems like it's a great place to visit (architectural appearance, restaurants, etc.). I suppose summer is the best time to visit: there are lakes you can bathe in and even a sandy sea beachfront. I wouldn't postpone this trip!

Hello! It is believed that Russia is the coldest country in the world. About 65% of the Russian territory is underlined by permafrost. But at the same time we have a humid subtropical climate zone (most notably in Sochi).

Today in Moscow it's 5°C (41°F). It's a nice day for cycling!

Welcome and never mind your English, as long as you can make yourself understood, you'll be fine.
The more countries are represented on this site, the better our collective understanding of each other.
Looking forward to your opinion on everything discussed here on ATS!

Yeah Pjusk is great. I know one of the dudes in the band, Mr. Sagevik.
we served in the military together ages ago.
They are cool dudes.
Before Pjusk there was Circular, wich also is the same ambient style music.

Iam glad you liked it.

Thanks.
