You simply did a mix up of things you have been posting
over and over and over in recent threads.
Guess I'll join in the fun!

I guess you got wanted to find like minded people.
Sigh.
Won't be hard on ATS.
Need a little ego boosting?
A few stars to make you feel like a banana lover again?

The people who make fun of
those who are concerned about the rise in Christophobia
bigotry and prejudice towards Christians
actually engage in it regularly and then say it doesn't exist;
after engaging in it themselves.

Bet we'll see plenty of Christian hating on this thread
by people who won't see that their hating on Christians
is engaging in bigotry and prejudice.

It is so pervasive that the people who are
making fun of Christians see it as normal conversation
and when they say bigoted, ugly, and prejudiced things
they don't see it that way because they are
conditioned to see Christians as sub-human
for their beliefs.

In the hearts of the Christophobic that will star
and pat you on the back
is the pervasive idea
Christians are persecuting them daily.
Paranoia if you ask me.

Most of them have stated repeatedly
that the world would be better off
without religion and would like to
see religion abolished from the world.

(They deny that it means that religious
people must go to, because without
religious people we all know
there would be no religion).
The only way to rid the earth of
all religion is to eliminate all the
religious people, but they deny this
and keep saying we are imagining things.

They don't want to kill religious
people just their religion and everything
associated with the religion. (associated
with? as in people?)

What we are seeing here
with the people who advocate
eliminating religion from the world
is a form of National Socialism
at it's finest.

Me Personally:

I could care less if you are a non-believer
just don't go around inciting others to hate
so much that they act out because of the
hatred and venom that one spews toward
a particular group.
That is how it all started in Germany
when the National Socialists were in power.

I don't say on ATS,
all atheism must be abolished from the face of the earth,
all atheism is a plague on mankind that has infected the earth,
all atheists are ..... (name what is spouted about Christians)
I don't say any of those things at all.

I could care less if you are an atheist, just quit trying to
force everyone to be an atheist.

Just quit calling people of faith ugly names and attribute
all the ills that are on the earth to people of faith.

Remember Stalin and Mao,
they killed thousands upon thousands
trying to eliminate the religious
and turn their countries to atheism.
That was their goal, to eliminate
all religion from their countries
and make their countries atheist.

Now, go ahead and jump around and
scream and swing on branches and howl
about how evil I am because I am a
Christian and how virtuous you are
because you like Stalin and Mao are
a compassionate atheist.

Christianity can go to Hell. There, I said it.

Note: Christianity, not individuals.

My feelings towards people, Christian or otherwise, are dependent on the person, and not necessarily their beliefs.

Remember the genocides of the Old Testament and countless religiously fueled wars throughout history? Stalin and Mao are drops in the bucket.

Let's not forget what's supposedly to come according to Revelations..

That said, who has killed more and why shouldn't be turned into a competition.

Also, screw Stalin and Mao too.

No one is persecuted in the West...

Not gay, straight, Muslim, Jew, Christian, atheist, agnostic, male or female.

Anyone from any above group claiming persecution in the West is a whiney bitch.

However...
It's fair to say in the East all of the above with the exception of males are persecuted somewhere...

Muslims in Asia & Africa, Christians in the Africa & the Middle East, Gays in both, non believers in both, females in both.

I'm not much of a Westist, but we are a little superior in the human rights department.

Black folk in Western Prison Industrial Complexes is the closest we are to a persecuted group...
In fact I'd go out on a limb and say the black folk are the sole target for persecution in the West.

I am not claiming persecution.

I am saying that the memes:
1. all religion is the cause of all the problems in the world
is a pervasive meme in our society
2. all Christians are homophobic women haters who are
out to "get" non-Christians
3. all Christians are mean to non-Christians and want
them to go to hell
4. all Christians are (name your latest)

These memes are pervasive in our society.

It was memes like these in pre-WWII Germany
used toward the Jews
that caused the holocaust.

Memes like these are dangerous
when said over and over
and the generalizing
that occurs attributing
behavior you don't like
to all Christians or all people of faith.

These memes are quite clearly
seen in all the posts above mine.

These memes when pervasive
enough and in time
can end in a push for
genocide.

Ugly rants about "Christians are....."
As in this case "Christians are all whiney
and feeling persecuted and are ......"
Fits right in with the meme generation.

Right now Christians are far from
persecuted in the US, true.

However, no one has sense enough
to say to people who hate daily
online about the "religious" and
how all religion needs to be wiped
from the earth - that that kind
of talk leads to National Socialist
behavior in the long run.

What did they say in Germany,
when they came for the Jews
I said nothing........
Well, what you may be seeing
is Christians speaking up before
the highly applauded rhetoric
of christian bashing
becomes persecution.

Keep on applauding Christian bashing,
keep on blaming Christians for all the worlds ills,
keep on telling Christians to shut up when real issues occur (like the recent shooting)
and we will end up in the lap of National Socialism
in the long run.

I think Christians have every right to stand up and say,
we won't shut up when you advocate getting rid
of all religion and say we are evil
or homophobic or whatever the ugly meme
of the day is about Christians.

It is interesting they way everyone above my first posts
just wants to shut up Christians for being concerned
about they way they and the media bash Christians
and the religious constantly.

You didn't bother to really read my post did you? Shame on you.

I have always said I am the worlds worst Christian.

I won't go silent into the night like a good little Christian
while people call me homophobic
when people say I want everyone to go to hell
when people say I am trying to force my beliefs on others.
I won't go silent into the night and let people talk so badly
about me that in the end they decide to act upon their
irrational and hateful ideas.
I will speak up BEFORE the persecution beings
in full, while it is still in the ugly rhetoric stage.

So go ahead and spew your ugly rhetoric, but
don't expect me to curl into a little ball
while you verbally kick the ... out of me
and expect me to stay silent. Won't happen.

It'd be nice if we could all mind our own business and live and let live. It has to start somewhere, I suppose. I don't have any problem with religion or religious folks, personally. They don't bother me, I don't bother them. I have no right to tell them they are wrong, and they have no right to tell me I am wrong.

Seems that everyone has their own church. Some churches are atheist churches, preaching what they believe.

Some people's churches are just against everyone else's churches.

I try to respect everyone's faith. What I don't like, (I guess that is MY church) is people condemning someone else's faith. My church is the Holy Mind Your Own Damned Business Church.

And if people start insulting and bashing another persons church, then I find that just as rude as a preacher who won't leave my doorstep.

I actually agree with you 100%
I just wrote such a statement on another
thread and will restate it here:

I have stated repeatedly on ATS
I am a live and let live person
believe what you want or don't believe, I really don't care
gay, fine, I don't care
transsexual, fine, I don't care
want to marry 5 people, fine, I don't care
Wiccan, fine, I don't care
Satanist, fine, I don't care
Atheist, fine, I don't care

People are free to make their own choices
about the life they live,
live and let live is my motto as long as
you don't hurt anyone physically
or harm property
or harm children
hurt people's feelings, so what, as long as you don't
....harm them or their property or throw out
....such venom toward other groups that you incite
....them to harm others or harm property
or continually spew such awful things about people
who you disagree with that it leads others to tragic actions

I wish all atheists, gay people, transsexuals,
Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Wiccans, whatever,
a happy life as and truly believe if that is what you have chosen,
fine, as long as you live and let
others live as they choose without spewing hate at them.

All that rings hollow when you compare those that disagree with you as Nazi's and liking Stalin and Mao.
Looks like you aren't above spewing a little hate of your own.

Instead of bitching about it, you could take what you perceive as hostilities towards Christians and deal with the bitter dose Christianity dished out for hundreds of years being thrown back at you in a humble manner of learning. A little "Hot damn, I see now this is what it felt like to not be a Christian in a Christian world for centuries upon centuries. Damn, sorry guys, it's about time we step back and clam up, isn't it?"

No, you are misinterpreting what I wrote.

I was speaking to those atheists
who claim that getting rid of religion
would be a good thing for the world.
To atheists who blame all Christians
for homophobia, abortion clinic bombings,
etc.
Who think the world would be better off
without Christians and religion in general.

I was simply comparing that line of thinking
to the exact same line of thinking as
expressed by Stalin and Mao,
when they actually attempted to carry
out the philosophy that so many hold
so dear. (That getting rid of religion
would solve the worlds problems)

I don't hate atheists, if they will allow
others to not be atheists and stop trying
their best to convert others to atheism.
And if they will stop ridiculing people
of faith and calling them things like
brainwashed cultists.
If they will live and let live and leave
people of faith alone to live as they
see fit.

These people are engaging in the exact
same behavior that they accuse Christians
of engaging in, intolerance and attempting
to convert them to their way of thinking.

Anyway, I respect those whose will live
and let live, and will not
be silent when people are out to
force people into their way of
believing, or non-believing.

Many on the first page are far worse
than TV evangelists, whom I despise,
when it come to trying to force people
to convert to their non-belief.

As for the National Socialist comment,
that only applies to people who constantly
rant on about how religion needs to be
removed from the world,
and people who constantly rant about
how awful and terrible Christians are
(come on you know that happens
over and over and over on ATS)
That doesn't apply to those who disagree
with me, only to those who make it their
mission in life to rant and rave
constantly and consistently about the
awful Christians, or moronic Christians
or whatever.

I am growing weary of the supposed persecution of American Christians. How can you be "persecuted" if:

You are free to walk into the church of your choice, or any church for that matter, without fear of death, harassment or punishment?

You are free to walk into a bookstore or book section and purchase a Bible with no repercussion and keep it, display it, or give it to another person not in secret, but out in the open?

You have your own style of music played over the open air on radio stations that cater just to that musical genre?

You are free to stand anywhere you like and begin peacefully preaching your gospel to anyone who will listen with out being arrested for doing so?

Christmas is just around the corner and the "Christians" are no doubt gearing up for their annual war on Christmas spiel. Don't like it because the clerk at Walmart says Happy Holidays to you? There's nothing stopping you from wishing THEM a Merry Christmas. Don't like it because there is no Nativity scene in front of City Hall? There's nothing stopping you from going to Menards and FREELY purchasing one of your own and putting it up in your own damn yard.

I don't hear this same BS coming from other countries, just the US. Have we (Americans) made it our goal to elevate b!tching about everything to the next level?

Actually, I'm a Christian who thinks Dec 25th Christmas should
be abolished entirely.

It is NOT the actual or anywhere near the real date
of Christ's birth.

It has become an over commercialized
and materialistic and hedonistic
parody of what was supposed to be
a religious holiday.

I actually am for abolishing it.
Surprise, that some Christians actually
want to do away with the ugliness
and gauche and tacky excessive
celebration of corporate greed
and materialism, which
bankrupts the poor.
