If we are just hearing about this oil find,
we can be assured the chess players have known for a while.
It might explain the whole shootin match.

So you are saying its not illegally occupied by Israel then?

Uh, the last I checked, Israel is not illegally occupying the Golan Heights. If SA, Eqypt and other Arabs feel Israel is "stealing" land, why don't they use force to get it back. They're way bigger than Israel in both land and people. You'd think they'd help their Palestinian brothers but they don't like them either.

It has been illegal to annex land by force since WW2.
Israeli-occupied territories

The Israeli-occupied territories are the territories still occupied by Israel following the Six-Day War of 1967. They consist of the Palestinian Territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip; much of the Golan Heights from Syria; and, until 1982, the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt. Israel maintains that the West Bank is disputed territory and asserts that since the disengagement from Gaza in 2005, it no longer occupies it. The Palestinian Authority, the EU, the International Court of Justice, the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council consider East Jerusalem to be part of the West Bank and occupied by Israel; Israel considers all of Jerusalem to be its capital and sovereign territory. West Jerusalem is considered to be occupied by Arab and Palestinian representatives.

The International Court of Justice, the UN General Assembly and the United Nations Security Council regards Israel as the "Occupying Power". UN Special Rapporteur Richard Falk called Israel’s occupation "an affront to international law." The Israeli High Court of Justice has ruled that Israel holds the West Bank under "belligerent occupation". According to Talia Sasson, the High Court of Justice in Israel, with a variety of different justices sitting, has repeatedly stated for more than four decades that Israel’s presence in the West Bank is in violation of international law.

The other Arab nations don't attack Israel because they know it would drag Israels lapdog America into the fight.

Mexico abdicated California. To put it in simple terms they gave up on the land and renounced ownership.

So in other words, puny little Israel and it's "lapdog" America thousands of miles away are deterring big ME countries from using force. No wonder 30,000 ISIS extremists are having their way with tens of millions occupying tens of thousands of square miles over there. The only time they enforce something is when they behead women publicly in SA on trumped up charges for not adhering to their iron age interpretation of Islam.

I know...

Problem solved...

Why doesn't BP just have it? Saves USA getting involved in the israel/Palestine debate. And it means the Russians can't get it either.

I will let my boss know...

Are the golden heights not contested by various parties?

Yes because the Golan Heights belongs to Syria it's just more land that is illegally occupied by Israel. What a coincidence Israel whined about not having oil like the Arabs and the land they want to steal from the Arabs like the Golan Heights and Gaza has oil under them. Also by drilling for oil in Golan Heights the give Syria a real nice target to hit.

Jeez, can you make it any more obvious that you're anti-Israel. You talk about Israel whining, you whine and blame about everything that has to do with Israel. I'm sure that this will be deleted as an off-topic reply, but I just want to state how ridiculous you sound.

Stating fact is ridiculous? Golan Heights is occupied territory. Israel complained many times about them not having oil like the Arabs that is also fact. Maybe you should stop believing Israels BS and see what is happening in the real world but then that would require a brain.

So it's fact because you state it? And because someone isn't falling lockstep into your anti-Israel agenda isn't living in the real word and doesn't have a brain? Ok, thanks for reaffirming my original statement about you, Jackwagon.

No you need to start checking out facts instead of just blindly believing what Israel says. I should have known I was wasting my time because Israeli supporters usually have no brains.

Nice debate tactic. Resort to calling Israeli supporters brainless. You are right. You surely are a waste of time.

moral of the story: If you do not want your asses kicked and your territory annexed do not attack Israel and if you are ignorant enough to do so anyway -don't whine when you duly get waffle stomped and your stuff taken away.

So True.

By your logic, the entire Confederate States of America are occupied by the Union to this day ... Do we really need to go there and examine why that isn't the case? It was called the Civil War.

Balderdash! you see when one country starts a war and invades another and subsequently gets it's ass kicked the victor often claims any territory gained during the war as just compensation. Syria, Egypt and others invaded Israel. So Israel kicked their asses and annexed some of the territory they claimed during the war as a buffer zone. It's no use complaining about it. They started it. Israel finished it.

Post WWII when international law changed and occupied territory cannot be claimed by the occupiers.

We have done the same with Mexico.

Pre WWII when international law allowed the occupiers to control the occupied land

Just because all of the bass ackwards left has a hatred for Israel does not change the laws, traditions and customs of warfare. Those territories are Israel's now and it is they that have the right to determine their disposition.

These are international laws that Israel and its supporters ignore. Do some homework!

Because there was no laws against annexing land by force back then. Had you read the thread which you obviously didn't you would have seen that I stated after WW2 laws were made against annexing land by force.
