This is a good piece to read and think about .. "Russia, US Working on Joint Document on Syrian Strikes

It would be useful to work out rules to avoid unwanted incidents in the sky, but is there enough sense in Washington to be realistic and not try to use them to hamper Russian campaign? " russia-insider.com...

It's interesting that a document was sent to the Russia military because one would think that the two getting together to create a document would have been much simpler and faster . One can only guess that the US would want to gain the upper hand only because right now Russia has in in Syria .

As to what the end plan for the two sides is one can only guess . Well there is enough evidence to get a idea . 1 "Putin Has Just Put An End to the Wolfowitz Doctrine .No more regime-changing in the Middle East for the US " russia-insider.com... 2 is that " How Russia Is Working to Bring Down Saudi Domination of OPEC
Wants to create a Russian OPEC bloc to put pressure on the Saudis to change their policies and lower production to give the oil price a respite " russia-insider.com...

Just a quick question: has the NATO an UN-mandate to operate in Syria or are they violating int. laws again?

LOL. Games are afoot!

Just for the fun of it, the next time they 'shadow' a predator, I'd like to see two F-22s slide on up on their six and give them a wave.

They'd be wondering what loads were 'hidden' in those bays....

NATO is being side lined and are becoming as ineffective as the UN is .Don't expect any UN resolutions like the one for Libya . Those days are long gone ..Even if NATO wanted to operate within the Syrian/Iraq ISIS demise they will probably end up going through Vlad the mad :>)

I think we should let Russia have their hand at a huge, expensive, ground war with Islamic Extremists for a second term.

Last time they did we didn't have to worry about them for 20 years.

Exactly.

Russia in Syria is great for the west.

They get to sort out a problem we have and it also keeps Putin in a quagmire that will keep him out of trouble for a few years at least and hopefully draws the hatred of the middle east on them rather than us for once. Win/win.

Are F-22's that kind of plane? Aren't they used for long range targeting?

Well it looks like everyone just wants to poke around Syria and see what will be allowed now. . . .
If a global war starts because of this we will all be the losers in it as TZAR bombs come to a city near each of us. Does NATO actually think they can win a war with Russia? I dont think they will if they tried. . . . . . Only thing that would happen is global obliteration so why even take steps towards that destination?

www.theguardian.com...

Australian jets diverted from Syria as Russia's entry complicates mission
Operations chief David Johnston says pause because RAAF resources were not needed but admits Russian intervention has ‘increased complexity’.

Umm you do realize that the TZAR bomba was so heavy it could not be put on a missile right? They tried and it was too unstable. Only the russian bear could carry it,and those are so loud they can be heard by SONAR.

No, there is no UN mandate. But there is a US mandate.

According to Defence secretary Ashton in a hearing on the question on the legality.... He didnt know.

The US have formed a coalition that is legal enough for them.

We've already learned quit a bit through they media coverage they have given. Have you see how far off target their bombs hit in those videos they released?

Good point. Ive seen several sources state that the Russians have yet to field a GPS or GLONASS guided munition - that they just don't have the capability. I also find it interesting that they are fielding cluster bombs. Signs that they are doing this on the cheap...

They have many capabilities. Assuming no surveillance aircraft above or directly below radar units, a Raptor can often sneak right up on another aircraft without that aircraft ever knowing about it.

Very unsettling to that pilot...

Probably not a s easy to do with Russian SU's but they did do that to Iranian F-4's a number of years back.

Russia have also earlier this weekend locked on to 2 Turkish F-16s from a ground station in Syria. THis happened as the two F-16 were going to intercept the SU 30SMs.

- It is stated the the F-16s noticed that they were being tracked by radar, but did not know from where or by what.

"Russian fighter jets shadowed U.S. predator drones on at least three separate occasions high above Syria since the start of Russia’s air campaign last week, according to two U.S. officials briefed on this latest intelligence from the region.

“The first time it happened, we thought the Russians got lucky. Then it happened two more times,” said one official. "

The story says the Predators were shadowed - sounds to me as thought they were probably painted by the Russian planes....

And so it begins!

They are comming. . . . . . . "LET THEM COME!"

If this is true how will the USA respond?
Will they send drones or fighters to shoot down the Russians and Government pilots?
Is this the begining of the end for all of us?

They better hope this is all wrapped up by the time Trump gets into office.
As of now, no one over here has the nerve to do anything about it.
Not that we should either, Russia was invited and are doing a fantastic job.
Not that our handlers like that however.
But still.

Actually, they border on being that retarded ... the Ukraine crisis is a tell tale.

While Russia has some interesting tech, I question how trained they are.

You really think NATO or the US will be the first to use a weapon of last resort?

Both nations, US and Russia have said that they will use Nuclear weapons as a first responds.

It is just as likely that the US will use them in a first strike as it would be for the Russians to use them.

Just did a quick search and I could only find articles stating Putin would use them If a European missile shield were put in place, which kinda makes my point.

How will they respond?

To what exactly? Russian planes following a US drone?

So what.

If they'd shot the things down, that would be a different story, but following a drone is not an aggressive thing to do.

The Russians are probably using their onboard cameras to film the drones in order to capture or gather evidence / proof that the US is NOT fighting a campaign against IS, but are in fact bombing the hell out of Assad's army (and probably civilians loyal to him).

I'd imagine being faced with the possibility of the Russians directly capturing film footage of US drones illegally attacking Assad's forces and people, and not going after IS is a good reason for the Americans to moan their guts out about the Russian planes shadowing their drones.
