Invisible, but I can see where you're going.

The file size is to large to upload on ats. A lot of rumbling in the sky for the last hour. I'll scan the entire sky and find nothing. Until I caught it. Cutting a path in the clouds.

Enjoy.

Did you actually see it make the path in the clouds?

Mindblowing.

Reminds me of the Boeing ad where you hear jet noises but only see the aircraft's shadow on the clouds.

Zaphod?

I can see the triangle shape. Just wonder whats the point of having an invisible craft, if it can be heard. There by not being totally invisible, just in the light spectrum of vibrations

That was a Northrup Grumman commercial.

I've met a silent craft. with that one it moved slowly. Although the ending is fuzzy on how it left. like it was just gone.
but one way for the sound to be useful if you can't sight the craft with eye sight and especially if it's radar stealth as well.. It would feel like a hawk circling and you are a mouse that saw the shadow..

Maybe it was a drone? Those are basically invisible at the right altitude.

EDIT:

for above poster and the commercial. That does fit the OPs experience/picture..

Was it just the slip stream that you were able to spot or did you get a look at the aircraft that was making the turbulence?

Most aircraft flying through a cloud layer will leave a trail that looks like that. The size of the disturbance path will give you an idea of the size and the velocity of the aircraft.

Elvis?

Looks like a bug or a bird though. Doesn't really line up with the wake turbulence path.

The sun was in my eyes so I wasn't able to make out much. From all the rumbling and not seeing anything I started looking thru the transparent clouds. That is when I noticed it.

Grey the black dot I didn't notice. Good eye

I have to ask, how close are you to a military base? I ask because I've heard the same thing before (not a cloud in the sky), and never saw a thing. Even though it sounded like it was right above me. I've had a b2 bomber fly over the house and this was even louder. And it happened multiple times on different occasions, but this was a couple of years ago (maybe 4 or 5)

They don't play with all the toys on an aircraft normally. That includes engine quieting technology.

I work close to one. I see what I hear all the time though. Today was different.

A missile can't lock onto a general rumble.

I always used to hate seeing them parked on the ramp. They're a real nightmare.

I'll bet they can be very high maintenance.......for other aircraft.
