They're not a Muslim nation by your definition.

Uh, actually they are because their codified civil law recognizes Sharia.

Our codified civil law says nothing in regards Jesus.

This makes me mad, and you know why?
This entire bs created idea that majority equals democracy. This is incorrect. Democracy equates to socialism. Socialism equals privatized slavery. Our rights as individuals are written in our constitution. Our constitution that has made us a constitutional republic. In theory, we vote reps into a republic to fit our needs. Maybe I'm wrong, but as everyone else is saying, just take the damn day off and quit whining.

Yeah, i'm not going to type what she said, you listen for yourself. It's a news report about muslims getting angry at the school board for not making a last minute change to the holidays to include one for them. Then a woman says something so ominous I got a sick feeling in my gut. You will too.

eta: I have to say what it is, too many are missing it. At 35 seconds a woman says "We are not the minority here by the turn out, and soon we will all be the majority"

So why does that make you feel sick? Are you racist? Scared of Muslims or just scared of becoming a minority?

Man up. .!. and stop whining and spreading anti Muslim propaganda.

News flash. George bush 14 years ago right after 911 began the anti Muslim campaign.
Your government continues the anti Muslim campaign while funding terrorists

Political correctness has devastated Europe and illegals will exploit that correctness to no end. Muslim extremists will exploit that correctness as well.

Truth of the matter is, western groomed and "moderates" offer no threat. However, since 911 that has all changed as per the gov agenda. The world is in the middle of the largest Muslim migration history has ever seen. Nations are making it a crime to speak out against it and political correctness has paved a road to Muslim majorities in Christian nations.

The myopic views of those quickly to drop the racist card are extremely limited to understanding the difference between a western born Muslim vs a migratory one from a country with ZERO exposure to western cultures.

I wouldn't be whiining if that woman didn't say "we will be the majority"

Go pound sand.

Have a look at google images of the day of Eid: HERE

Christians eat lamb at Easter.

Ever heard lambs screaming when they are slaughtered, Clarice?

Civilized human beings slaughter their meat humanely and in a slaughterhouse.

MiddleEasterners tie camels to cars and slit their throats in the f**king street!!

And I don't care what religion someone is when they are being inhumane nutjobs.

That's laughable. Ever been to a slaughterhouse? I love meat and I have no delusion about where it comes from. I don't see how killing an animal on an assembly line is any different from killing an animal in the street. There are probably a lot of American hunters who don't capture deer in cages, drive them to a slaughter house and shoot them in the back of the head with a bolt gun on an assembly line. They shoot them with a bow and arrow, and then cut the animal's throat ....in woods. Government even licenses these people for the purpose of reducing overpopulation and the burden on the finite food supply.

You're just looking for a reason to hate people. You're willing to rely upon anything that supports your preconceived notion of what a Muslim is and ignore everything that doesn't. How opportunistic!

Sharia Law did almost get a toe hold in Canada:

"In 1991, Ontario was looking for ways to ease the burdens of a backlogged court system. So the province changed its Arbitration Act to allow "faith-based arbitration" – a system where Muslims, Jews, Catholics and members of other faiths could use the guiding principles of their religions to settle family disputes such as divorce, custody and inheritances outside the court system." www.canadianlawsite.ca...

"In 2005 a Toronto lawyer, Syed Mumtaz Ali, announced that an Islamic Institute of Civil Justice would begin arbitrating Muslim family matters on the basis of sharia law. Many Muslim leaders supported Ali arguing that Jewish as well as Catholic tribunals had been arbitrating family matters under the 1991 Arbitration Act. Therefore, arbitration for Muslims according to Islamic laws should also be provided. The attempt to introduce sharia law was answered by outrage and protest by women’s groups, as they saw it threatening the equal rights of women. One could relate this to Islamic phobia because of media images of such incidents as execution of women in Afghanistan under the Taliban interpretation of sharia law. However, “liberal” Muslim groups also protested against the introduction of sharia law. One of the most prominent was the Muslim Canadian Congress, which defends “a progressive, liberal, pluralistic, democratic, and secular society where everyone has the freedom of religion.” inequalitygaps.org...

In 2005 Premier Dalton McGuinty ended religious arbitration and brought everyone in Ontario under one law.
Attempts to set up Sharia courts in Canada in 2005 were abandoned. The Jewish and Catholic community did not want Muslims introducing Sharia into Canada, so they accepted the decision to ban all religious arbitration in Ontario, including their own respective tribunals.

So clearly not all muslims in Canada, regardless of how they arrived here, are in favor of sharia law in Canada.

I agree.

I think it's largely the fear of possibly becoming a minority, because they know how badly they treat minorities. So they think we'll do the same to them. That and a lot of people are just bored with everyday life. So they try to find some form of stimulation.

Seeking stimulation isn't bad by itself; but it is bad when they use fearmongering & bigotry as stimulation. And it's even worse when they then try to spread that ignorance & fearmongering to others.

Why do I need to watch your youtube link when I can just look at my Mom & other Muslim female friends & relatives? I see first hand how Muslim women are actually treated & it's nothing like how non-Muslims think.

But I guess that's the difference between first hand experience & 2nd/3rd hand gossip?

"Why do I need to watch your youtube link when I can just look at my Mom & other Muslim female friends & relatives?"

One word perspective. Why not give it a quick peruse and possibly offer up your own opinions as to the content. This is not second hand gossip as the evidence speaks for itself. Would only be second, third hand if the lady in the vid came out and told us as to what transpired. Which is not the case because its filmed all be it discreetly, firsthand.

Perspective? The Muslim immigrant friends & coworkers I have are from Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia and Iraq (both Arab & Kurdish areas). And those are just the ones whose homelands I've asked about. And my Muslim family members are African Americans with Muscogee/"Creek" lineage. But I guess their experiences & daily lives don't matter because some fear mongering youtube clip contradicts them?

And I've posted plenty of times on ATS about Muslim women in Islam. They have the same religious requirements as males, are forbidden from the same sins as males, and will be held accountable for their actions & inactions on the Day of Judgment just like Muslim men. And unlike the Bible, the Qur'an guarantees them inheritance rights, the right to divorce, and child support & alimony from the ex-husband until the divorced women re-marry.

The major difference is that they are supposed to focus more on their families, homes, and children while males are supposed to focus more on outer things (like politics, security, business, etc). And even then, they're not forbidden from having jobs or having careers. They're encouraged to cover themselves both for piety & to reduce the lustful advances of males, like Catholic nuns & Amish women.

And contrary to popular belief, many women appreciate being judged for their minds & not their bodies. This is probably one reason why the biggest demographic of Muslim converts in Western countries is usually white women from the ages of 24-35. Once they actually see what the Qur'an says & compare it to the alternatives, they tend to like it.

As for the regional issues with women, those are male problems, not Islamic problems. Hence the reason that there are Muslim women's rights movements in Islamic countries. As examples, female genital mutilation (aka "female circumcision") is an Eastern African practice that is not in the Qur'an (neither is male circumcision). The Qur'an also requires women to learn about the world & speak the truth just as it does males (hence my Mom, a retired school teacher). And the Qur'an says a woman should be allowed to choose her husband, as in, no forced marriages. Muslim women's rights groups usually back their arguments with quotes from the Qur'an to counter the chauvinist & sometimes misogynist practices of their regional clerics. So if you really support Muslim women, why not look into their women's rights movements and see how you can help?

End of the day if you stay in this country you must follow the laws of the land and not some religious orientated version from another place. That's simply how it is. As to me supporting Muslim women and there plight towards women's rights, or even equal rights, i certainly identify with there situation but as to actually helping im afraid i have enough problems of my own right now. Which is not to say i dont have an opinion on the matter.

I didn't say you can't or shouldn't have an opinion on the matter. Just showing that it's nowhere near the situation that non-Muslims are led to believe.

EDIT: That's one of the main problems with fearmongering. It has to ignore the complexities of a situation in order to induce stress, anger, fear, and other kneejerk reactions. Fearmongering always fails when people look past the scare tactics & learn the truth of the situation.

Remember the fearmongering about what would happen if gay marriage and/or recreational marijuana were allowed? Same crap. Fear, fear, fear; then people learn the truth, then nothing bad happens so people move on to the next topic.

Far as I'm aware using weed recreational or other wise is still a crime in the UK. Point of fact I was fined not that long ago for possessing two joints. As to gay marriage, I say if you love someone then where is the problem? Marry whoever you wish would be my thinking on the subject. And it's not fear mongering to be concerned over the impact these Shria law councils functioning and operating in the UK, its genuine concern as to the impact they have on what amounts to UK citizens, colour or creed aside, we all must abide by the same laws or anarchy would ensure.

That isn't an excuse seeker, if you are going to respond please do so with knowing what I said and not your twisted interpretation.

You say they need to go home, I said America is most likely their home, where is the excuse?

If it was a Christian asking for something that I didn't like I wouldn't say they need to 'go home', would you say that about one?

Don't answer, I am sure it will be an off topic rant based in fantasy land.

The christian analogies don't work. This is a christian nation by majority.

Not for long.

It is very easy to look at the positive in the quran without looking at all the negative. Muslims are professionals at playing with religious words and avoiding anything that will make their religion look bad. However, most religions are like that. If there is some silly or controversial verse, a religious mind will use every excuse to make it look good.

I'd like to erase a muslims religion from their mind and have them read the quran without any influence. Never knowing it is a "holy" book.

I'm sure the kids would be stoked if they made all these religious festivals days off, then they could go play in the street with their mates, religous or not. School holidays are school holidays.
