Isn't it ironic that when other people with firearms show up the coward anti-social internet wannabes kill themselves before they are killed by an armed opponent. Oregon shooter kills himself.

This sends a pretty strong message.

COWARDS!!!

Coward commits suicide

Early reports (even by law enforcement) indicated he was killed by Sheriff's deputies in a gunfight. WRONG!

I don't see as it matters. I think he was pretty much determined to be a coward when he decided to go into a school and start shooting up people...

No argument there, but it does seem to happen more often than not...and there's something to be learned from it.

You are not implying that Holmes was not a coward, are you?

Holmes didn't kill himself; he played a crazy psycho instead. And "played" is the key word.

Holmes played...everyone (law enforcement, the public, the courts, the judge and the jury). And, Holmes will continue to play the system...forever. It's his personality.

edit...yes, I AM impying Holmes is a coward, but just a different kind, a far more evil kind.

Ah. He played a crazy psycho when in reality he is a sane psycho. Got it.

There is no rule which says one cannot be insane as well as cowardly. It is, in fact, a point of commonality in this sort of situation.

Anyone willing to go in to place with the express purposes of ending life.

OF people that have done nothing to them.

IS a COWARD.

He should have offed himself first ,and done them, and the world a favor.

Mercer,Lanza,Holmes ALL COWARDS.

They didn't target people that could shoot back did they?

Same here, and seeing as there was a firefight, thank God no more were hurt or killed.

I lost two friends in that room. The teacher and the older woman. Snyder Hall is the closest hall to the parking lot. Park your car and within 60 seconds walk you are in the building. The hallway is an open hallway with no doors. The coward did not even have to parade around the campus with his arms where he might have been seen. Class was in session so there were few if any people out and around. Just park, walk for 30 seconds, open a door and start shooting.

Coward? Let me add the word Punk.

Okay, phage; this is a case I've followed quite carefully. I know people who were involved. I live in Colorado.

When you say...

He played a crazy psycho when in reality he is a sane psycho. Got it.

You are walking a fine line. He was deemed sane enough to stand trial under the rule of law, nothing more. So yes, I "got it" in this respect. However, his actions are clearly those of an unstable individual by any standard. No, I am not a medical doctor or a psychiartrist (sp?), this much I admit. However, by any standard of normal behavior in society this individual was seriously ab-normal.

I don't want to go down a rabbit hole here on the Aurora theater shooting case. By most standards it is a an unusual case, eclipsed by many others where the shooter kills himself, hence my point in the OP.

All due respect (and I do mean that, because I do respect your opinions)...let's not digress into the Aurora case because it truly is a different bag of cats.

I can add a few other words but it wouldn't be appropriate and not in line with ATS rules and guidelines.

In the U.S.A., there have been nearly 300 "mass" killings of 4 or more people in 2015 alone... 993 since 2012 (According to The Guardian
Mass Killings in the U.S.A.

Cowards? Sure... or any other belittling term we want to apply to utterly despicable acts, but I feel adding some "macho" element doesn't really help... do we want more folks killing on more even terms or something?

What would help is making our society more fair and inclusive, less Darwinian... and never naming the shooters so they don't get their pathetic moment of infamy.

There is a sickness... and it is growing... and the reasons are within us, not somewhere else.

Can't help but wonder...if the media portrayed these psychos as despicable cowards (instead of enigmatic martyrs), would we be seeing so many copycats?

President Obama is right. Why are we the only first world country with this problem?

What is the number of these so called slayings people just
believe thru a lying media? With out seeing any evidence they
are real? Yet when asked if they believe in God? It's hell no, I need
evidence? How many of these so called slayings have happened on
Obaa mas watch? I don't know anyone killed themselves because it's easier
to believe in God, then it is to believe all this is happening under
one administration. And that administration has nothing to do with it.
Now how about that?

No he isn't.

The first step in 'common sense' reform is ADMITTING :

Murder is already against the LAW.

AT the FEDERAL,STATE,and LOCAL levels.

Superfluous LAWS are not even close to being 'common sense'.

So, you're blaming Obama for these mass killings? And the killings aren't even happening? People aren't dying? The media coverage is all actors? Am I understanding your position? These are mostly false flags for the purpose of more gun control laws?

They were all wacko and Lanza was a kid, long diagnosed with mental problems. Not sure all were both cowards and nuts at the same time. That would mean that every single one of them had the presence of mind to just kill themselves first. Not possible.
