Sorry, you don't have a right to anything that imposes obligation.

You can say that as many times as you want, it won't make it true, any more than clicking your heels together will get you back to Kansas!

The Supreme Court disagrees with you.

There is more paperwork and more hoops to purchasing a firearm than there is to having an abortion. You've obviously never purchased a firearm from an FFL before.

Actually in many states the paperwork can be bypassed just by buying it at a gun show. Right now only 18 states require background checks at gun shows.

Funny thing there B.

According to the SCOTUS the background check is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

In its 1997 decision in the case, the Supreme Court ruled that the provision of the Brady Act that compelled state and local law enforcement officials to perform the background checks was unconstitutional on 10th amendment grounds.

So why do we have LAWS that KNOWINGLY violate American's civil liberties ?

Because we have American voters who knowingly violate the laws of common sense and intelligent voting, putting assholes in power who hate America's freedoms.

You Kids crack me up!!!

Not talking about chronological age, but experience, and maturity, age.

"Guns kill"

and?

thanks Captain obvious (he is not in this thread yet is he?)

did you all know life is 100% fatal?? No one lives through it...

SO.......

Live it,

and,

treat everyone the way YOU want to be treated (think how this would change your life)

(Corporations are now "people" see how they treat us and act with your wallet)

(See how the Government treats us and Vote accordingly)

The Golden rule supersedes the 10 commandments.

you do not have to love the thoughts of your neighbor but he still has the right to them.

No where in our beloved Constitution does it say you have the right to NOT be offended!!!!!!!!!

[I am not a "Christian" but wow some of you have a very solipsistic view of the world]

Just curious.....Do you have fill out new paperwork for every gun purchased, or is it kind of a one time deal? Does your paperwork expire or need to be renewed?

LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

The Second Amendment guarantees one the right to self defense.

Actually there.

The second through the 10 amendments extending to the 14th.

ALL deal with Americans civil liberties.

That are among them.

LIfE,LIBERTY,PROPERTY, and NONE of those rights can be denied without DUE PROCESS

And crimes be proven in courts of law.

The STATE was explicitly VERBOTEN to infringe those rights.

That means back ground checks, and every other gun control LAW is unconstitutional.

And American rights should be restored to what the founders intended.

WHY you ask ?

Well because murder is ALREADY Against the LAW.

By on the federal, state, and local levels.

You know like people have to actually commit a crime before being punished.

And Americans should not be punished for the actions of what someone else does.

THIS IS THE REASON the BILL OF RIGHTS was written.

It's all about DUE PROCESS.

Common sense and the definition of intelligence are subjective. What I may consider common sense goes over your head, and visa versa. What you're saying is that anyone who does not think (vote) like you lacks common sense and intelligence.

And yet, people with guns murder other people and walk away "scott free" all the time!

Self defense isn't murder, by the way. There are many ways people get away with murdering other people, but abortion murders no person.

Every single one of your rights are not listed in the US Constitution. Neither does the Constitution, nor the government, grant your rights. These constructs PROTECT rights, and SCOTUS has ruled that Abortion is a protected right.

Sorry, you don't have a right to anything that imposes obligation.

Not only that, but the child also has a right to its life. Which is more important - Your right to murder or the child's right to life?

Ketsuko.... Your old man is lucky, I wish my girl ATSed!!!

But I can't see this playing out well, you can't make women raise kids they don't want.... They will just raise bad kids, that turn to crime wholesale.

But I agree concent before conception...... But this is a lost cause today.

I *think* there's a license you can purchase which serves as a renewable background check (similar to the TSA pay-in program which allows frequent travelers to bypass the line to get their privates fondled more quickly). Most firearm purchasers, however, have to go through the process everytime. If you buy a firearm at a place like Cabella's, it can take well over an hour just filling out the papers, waiting for the checks, and getting all the redundant inspections of the paperwork and the weapon. This process is the same for every firearm.

And yet a 12 year old can't buy a gun.

Talk about inconsistency.

The laws are full of inconsistencies here (in the UK) a 12 year old

can get contraceptives or birth control implants without her

parents being informed and yet it is against the law for them

to have sex before the age of 16 years!!!....

INCONSISTENCIES? LOL!!

No you can't, but everyone misses the idea of adoption. I have so many adopted family members - husband, nephews, cousin, etc.

If we had a better budget and slightly more space in our home, we'd adopt one ourselves.

But the preferred solution would be to get people not to get pregnant in the first place. Sadly, the current culture of sex whenever and wherever is not conducive to that. Note: I am not against sex, but I do think people treat it far too cavalierly without respecting it for what it is intended to do and then they get in trouble.
