Obama voices anger over Oregon shooting, urges gun control

Washington (AFP) - US President Barack Obama on Thursday voiced his anger and sadness after the country's latest deadly shooting, this time at an Oregon community college, and made another impassioned plea for gun control legislation.

"Somehow this has become routine," Obama said at the White House in reaction to the shooting by a 20-year-old gunman at Umpqua Community College in rural Roseburg, which left up to 10 dead.

"We can actually do something about it, but we're going to have to change our laws," said a stony-faced Obama. "It cannot be this easy for somebody who wants to inflict harm on other people to get his or her hands on a gun."

Despite all these years that we have been told the Obama administration does not want gun control, every time there is a tragedy Obama and his administration uses those tragedies to call for gun control measures, and today is not any different, as he once again blames this tragedy on Congress for "not doing anything about gun control".

It should be obvious by now that this has been one of the many goals the Obama administration has had for a long time.

Despite some people claiming that he doesn't "want to take your guns", he keeps using every tragedy as another excuse to pass gun control measures.

It is a tragedy, if it really did happen. However, I am starting to question why in the world there are supposedly more mass shootings under an administration that is willing to do anything, and everything to pass gun control measures. These tragedies have become too common, and i question whether they all really happened or even if it is possible that this administration made so many of them happen.

The mass media is inundating Americans with a sense of urgency "to pass stricter gun controls".

Obviously the Obama administration are not the only ones using tragedies to impose their agenda on gun control. It has gotten to the point that reporters from news sites like Huffingtonpost have even called Americans lame for showing respect for victims during moments of silence, and these reporters have instead called for Americans to become angry and call for action on gun control.

It is as if the media, alongside the Obama administration can't wait for the next tragedy, or made up tragedy, to call once again for "gun control".

If this really did happen I feel sorry for the surviving families of those killed, but can't shake the feeling that this has become way too common and under the watch of an administration and media who do want gun control.

From the pictures released it does look to me like an "everyday school shooting" as opposed to the tight lipped no photos lack lustres false flag scenarios full of holes coincidences and lies........ so far

It seems to me, as an outsider, that the US Government has actually no faith in its own system of democracy or its people and has no qualms about killing its own people to pass laws & legislation rather than letting the people or even the Senate decide through democratic process. And yet, this is the country attempting to force this Democracy onto other countries which is so at odds with the US Governments own actions

that would be funny if it wasn't for the sad fact that it is "the American people" who are killing the American people!

Even if they rook everyone's gun, they would be smuggled in for the criminals just lie all the drugs that are illegal and very easy to get just about anywhere. The only people that had guns besides police would be criminals and they would love that as they would not have to fear home invasion, robbery, etc. Then you would be crying you don't have any protection next.

The answer is not and never will be more gun control. If this students or teacher were armed, there would only be one or tow injuries or death and not so many. Our border is wide open to smuggling and any machine shop, bug or small (garage) could manufacture untraceable firearms. There are people today that do this. Gin control laws won't work.

The chief of police of Europol came out a month or two ago and claimed gun control doesn't work ans they are outgunned by the jihadis. They have trainees go out into the street and try to purchase an AK47 and most are able to complete this in 2 hours.

There is NO gun control agenda in the manner you people speak of. There is NOW a urgency by the government to remove guns from the populations hands...BECAUSE they are incapable of being responsible with them and do not deserve them in any way.

Obama is genuinely concerned about the deaths from mass shooting as anyone else is.

Everything your people touch and country does on a world scale turns to sh** just like having guns.


I support ALL action to have US citizen barred from gun ownership at all costs. ALL COSTS.

too many innocent deaths.. too many fools in one country and too many shooting of late. You all had your chance and as usual messed that up in the dumbest of ways.
