I just finished watching the sanctimonious, windbag POTUS once again rail against our 2nd Amendment rights. Instead of focusing on the crime he focused on the mechanics of the crime in his continued efforts to subvert the Constitution and disarm the public. Never mind that I had nothing to do with the shooting in Oregon. I must be put on a list and tracked and eventually disarmed thanks to this a-hole.

What did I do to lose my rights? I really dislike this Authoritarian jerk.

Were you expecting anything less?

Never let a crisis go to waste without pushing your agenda?

Did you notice how he walked away from the mic like a petulant child? The fake drama was priceless!

Guess he felt he had to act like a man.
Since Putin just symbolically and publicly cut off what little manhood he had left.

Never miss a chance to say "Never let a crisis go to waste"

One of my favorite canned responses from the right wing in an attempt to demonize the left.

It's like children bickering.

The left shouts NAZI! ZIONIST! WARMONGER!

The right shouts back SOCIALIST! PROGRESSIVE! LIBTARD!

smh.

That people still so zealously hang onto political ideals is just insane. Guess it's easier than thinking for yourself eh?

When has any president ever let a crisis go to waste? Every president to ever have a crisis take place on his watch has taken advantage of it. We saw it with the Patriot Act and Bush before Obama, the same will be for our next president as well.

But the common denominator that makes it easy to cut thru the BS is the Constitution! Too bad so many are willing to demolish it........Call that biased!

This isn't a political issue it is a defending the Constitution issue. You are the only one that wants to politicize it and make it a partisan issue. I would rail against ANY politician that is for increased gun control.

I don't care about their party.

Hah ad hominem at its finest.

I'd say the same about you but I'm not so shallow as to make that call based on a forum post.

As for using crises to undermine the constitution, are there any instances of this actually happening?

I'm willing to bet he could have not said anything about gun control and people would just find something else they don't like to complain about him.

As an astute observer of all things US government, I'll say it again and again....

Even if it takes the government 30 more years they are going to keep chipping away at Joe publics resolve to own guns - I call it "death by a thousand cuts" - each cut being a gun-related incident that the government will have the propaganda mouth-piece say "see I told you so, if we ban guns this would not have happened"

You see, the US government gun-grabbers still want government and militarized LEO's to have guns - just not Joe public law abiding citizen. These same grabbers think that criminals intent on harm will also give up guns and not acquire them on the black market - just like you can't get (illegal) drugs on the street, neither will Joe Public or criminals be able to get guns because no-one knows how to make them other than (state sanctioned) weapons manufacturers and there will be no market for them /sarc

Educate your children and your communities - lest the only ones left owning guns is the government and it's agencies - because you can bet your bottom dollar that the governments obsessive-compulsive disorder towards disarming America does not include disarming the government as well.

I think it's safe to say that something needs to be done... We have way too much gun violence within this country. I live in Chicago, and just the other day it was 24 hours 15 different people shot... Insane.. I don't believe in extremes one way or the other, but staying on this same track isn't improving anything.

People! Just give up your guns! The sooner you do it, the sooner government can take care of you and protect you!

Unless there is someone wanting to do something illegal.

Then you're screwed. But you'll get free healthcare!

And you have the strongest gun control in the country. See the irony?

Because we have flooded the market with guns for people to get illegally.

We can't stop people from buying them, we can reduce the numbers of them out there while still allowing people to have them if they want.

I don't want a full stop ban on guns, I think people do have the right to have them.
But our culture of guns guns guns everywhere is part of the problem.

And for slavery, and for the Spanish Inquisition and for [Historical Event Here].

He is a nut-job. I was on my computer eating a sandwich not in Oregon.

Yep! That's our culture! Odd as hell we not only managed to reproduce like rabbits with all of these guns, but now we are being told we are over populating the planet?

Did you ever consider wrapping your mind around the fact that since we have the internet, we have INSTANT news that we can be riled up depending on the political church we worship at? I am old school, where the evening news and the local newspaper was the only news we were aware of. Not to mention? But the evening news actually told the news! They didn't have panels of political shills and experts to tell you what THEY thought, but just real news journalists reporting facts!

Nothing has changed, except for the technology to make us all instantly aware of what is happening everywhere else in the world, and the manipulation of the MSM and government to control our thought process!

Guns back then, guns now! What has change more drastically? Be honest!
