I hope someone can answer this question for me.

Should we let someone in the USA legally own a gun who would be deemed too unstable to own one in a country like Canada simply because of the second amendment?

Are we less intelligent than Canadians?

Nope I agree, mentally unstable people should not be allowed firearm, nor knives or weapons of any kind.

However I fully respect the constitution, the highest law of our land. It needs to be changed, legally, with constitutional convention, legally.

None of these BS illegal gun restricting laws politicians pass to get votes. Anti gun politicians prey on the fear of the population.

I really don't get how this keeps happening and average, ordinary people are not starting to suspect something is fishy here.

My condolences to the victims but this is a conspiracy forum and something is just not right.

Yeah a bunch of Germanic heathens ARE racists. The shooter used the name ironcross on his dating advert. So I worry.

Based on the pictures, the shooter is not white, so not sure how he could be a Nazi. Definitely warped in the head.

Why does this keep happening in the USA?

Mass murder is trending these days? I hope it's not contagious.

But why only in the USA?

It is not just in the US.

The violent crime in the UK has skyrocketed. They just knife every one instead of shooting .

Yes we may use more guns, but we don't have the highest violent crime rate per/100,000

Every wonder why all the people that support gun control always have LOTS of armed guards around them?

Ever go to the Capital building?
What about the White House?
What about almost ALL government buildings?
Bloomberg's house?
George Soro's House?

All have armed guards.

Schools?

Zip - Nata one.

Make you think that if they really believed "GUN FREE ZONE" sign worked they would use it themselves.

My God. And nobody reported it. We've got to be on the look out for these people.

Maybe because they have an agenda?

No shooting.
No Media.
No mass hysteria to "ban the evil guns"?

Just thinking...

What are they checking for now??

Is there any evidence that this photo was taken while the shooter was still active?

I am not doubting it am just asking.

They do look quite calm.

Just like some of the pictures taken at Sandy Hook.

Nice calm lines of kids moving away from the buildings.

I going to start off by stating that i have not yet read all of replies, so if what I'm about to mention has already been said, then please disregard my comments.

I love ATS. There are good people on here, we may not see things he same way, and may not have the same belifes, but for the most part everyone is fairly tolerant and respectful of each other. Thank you

There is another alt news website that I frequent. Their site seem to cater more toward the folks that wear the funny aluminum hats, and on ATS, its filled with more grounded people that you can carry on a good debate with.

After today's shooting happens, I knew what types of headlines I'd be seeing, and I just KNEW it would really piss me off. Guess what? It didn't disappoint.

The other site B***** it's N*** already have their hats on and conspiracy motors running.
There's topics like "Oregon mass shooting a hoax" and "Mass shooting is a false flag"

These types of posts have no facts, its all basically fear porn. The azzhole that wrote one of the articles blocked comments, so I couldn't bad mouth him there.

What I'm asking, friends of ATS, is that if your looking around one of the tinfoil hat type alt news/conspiracy websites ag come across topics like "OR shooting false flag" or "OR shooting a hoax" please take the time to comment to these futher muckers. Or better yet, flag them for content.

Normally I'd just blow it off but these mass shooting hit close to home....literally. I was living in Colorado when Columbine happened. Later on I dated a girl who's brother was one of the people killed. It was VERY REAL no hoax or false flags, I witnessed the reality of it all.

Now I live in Oregon and this shooting happens today. It's very real, not a hoax, not a tlase flag. Even though I'm north of Rosenberg, I still have friends that are first responders, and I know they got the call to go help. This one is very much real.

Please, out of respect for the people and familes that are affected by these shootings. If they are spreading fear porn, or misleading readers, please call them out on their BS in the comment section or flag their post for content.

Maybe they'll learn some courtesy.

I would put the blame on the people who cry about gun restrictions being too harsh. They do not want any restrictions on buying a gun and will fight tooth and nail for that right.

If mentally ill people can continue to own guns without restrictions this will continue to happen.

Say thank you for this mass shooting to the people who continue to fight less gun restrictions...NRA..and it's followers..

Mentally Ill people are not suppose to be able to buy firearms. Read the laws all ready in place.

Mental Illness is listed as disquilifier for purchase. But there is no way to check on this unless Doctors inform the police of their condition and it can be listed in the file. Which brings up the HIPA issues.

We do not need NEW laws, just follow the ones that have been on the books for years.

And even if we did that they could still get guns if they wanted to. (Do a little research on how easy it is to build one at home. And not just a cheap zip gun.)

PRELIMINARY REPORTS OF 10 KILLED, 20 INJURED IN SHOOTING AT COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN OREGON, STATE POLICE SPOKESMAN SAYS.

Preliminary information indicates 10 people were killed and more than 20 others injured in a shooting at Oregon's Umpqua Community College on Thursday, said Oregon State Police spokesman Bill Fugate.

The reports suggest that the shooter has been detained, he said.

Earlier, authorities told CNN they were responding to reports of an active shooter at the Roseburg college campus.

Another MASS school shooting this is a big one folks..

More news just coming in now
------------------------------------
UPDATE UP TO 15 DEAD
ktla.com...

At least 15 people were reportedly killed after an active shooter was spotted at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College.

Preliminary information indicated 10 people were killed and more than 20 were injured, Oregon State Police spokesman Bill Fugate told CNN.

TV station KATU later reported 15 people were killed, according to state police.

Wow...that is a lot of people. What is it about schools that attracts these maniacs? I just don't get it. Are they THAT wrapped up in what is going on at school?

Messed up....RIP to all those souls.

It was a "Gun free zone"
All schools in the USA are Gun free zones by law. This makes killing people easy when they won't be shooting back. Thank our legislators for it. They helped. NSA probably mind controlled someone, or someone decided to be a serious a-hole..

Even without gun free zones, most students probably wouldn't carry. I do though. No one should obey a law that removes your right to self defense.

There are colleges in the US where you can legally conceal carry handguns, along with legally keep long guns. My friend goes to a college in MT and his dorm building has a large community safe where you can keep long guns.

Bet they don't have people shooting up their school.

I believe they are not releasing the picture because they want to keep a monopoly on the flow of information and the flow of the investigation. If they were to give the details, they are aware (thanks to that last shooting - i can't remember the name), that the public will take it upon themselves to investigate, instead of just accepting it as is.

They do not want this because if this particular event is actually a 'psy-op' or whatever, they do not want any doubts planted in the minds of the Americans that are still plugged in the 'system's manipulation. I believe this is why they are not releasing information. They believe themselves to be the authority on what information should be given to the public.

I said this once, and I'll say it again: When you lose the integrity of the media, you lose the country. The journalists number one commandment should be to report the truth, expose the lies, and let the public decide. They are not doing this. They are choosing when, and how the news should be reported; which to me is manipulative.

Send our illegals to Canada and all the gang related crime too. Let's see if it effects their intelligence. I think it would be a wonderful social experiment, don't you think?

Can we be honest about the whole "illegal immigrant" BS? There are entire industries that would collapse without the cheap/slave labor role that they fill. If the government wanted to end illegal immigration tomorrow with a stroke of the pen they could do it. And it wouldn't require a wall or moat or 10,000 armed soldiers. Simply make it illegal to use undocumented workers. Make the punishment for using illegal undocumented workers massively financially punitive. As in "if you're caught using illegal aliens on large scale you lose your business". Take away the jobs and the people coming to fulfil those jobs will stop coming and/or go home. No politician will do squat to end illegal immigration.

As for gangs, well...there are gangs everywhere. And as I stated in an earlier post, the gangs in Canada commit the vast majority of their crimes with easily attainable USA guns guns smuggled into their country.

Do you really believe that pile of donkey turds?
If a malcontent and malicious person wants to inflict damage on other people, and does not have access to guns, they will simply go to the hardware store like Walter Seifert did.

Walter Seifert = 10 deaths 22 wounded - no gun

now ... about those illegals ... less than 2% of the entire illegal population is actually in the workforce - 72% are here for the freebie handouts that taxpayers are paying for. They are leeches sucking our economy dry. We have American Veterans being denied benefits so the illegals can have theirs.

i wonder how many of these shootings happen in countries bigger than the US that have different gun laws, or laws not based on an antiquated revolutionary times which gave all citizens the rights to bear arms... an entire era ago...

if the rights to own a weapon was omitted from the constitution i wonder.... i dont understand a 'right' to have guns. im not anti gun, but i dont see why we revolve around guns so much.

some people are going to say its the person not the gun, but how many mass stab attack occur monthly, or sniper knife thrower on the side of a highway, or 'active stabbing' drills law enforcement train for, or is there millions in knife smuggling corruptions, or knife armed robberies, or a cop accidentally using excessive knife or pepper spray force. or a guy armed with a bat and goes mental in a church with women and children.

if pro gun people ( which im neither pro or anti ) are going to say its the person not the gun, and anything can be used as a weapon etc... but when in history has someone been able to go on a campus and murder dozens with 'anything' but a gun.

Um to answer you last:

en.wikipedia.org...
7 different attacks in 2 years

www.latimes.com...

30 killed by mass knife attack

en.wikipedia.org... aka_school_massacre

2001 Japan

crimeresearch.org...

24 wounded by one boy.

www.dailymail.co.uk...

Knife attack in UK every 4 minutes.

Just a quick example of other issues. Did not even go into the attacks with bat. bars, fists,etc...

People have always keep weapons to protect and defend themselves. Swords and bows where used before that and clubs and rocks before that. Guns are just a tool to be used. If I run over 20 people in a car, is it the cars fault? If I use a bomb is it the bombs fault? People have figured out how to kill and harm from the beginning of time using w

The US has the worst crime rate out of any developed nation. They come in as the 45th worst country for overall crime rates on the entire planet. Even the UK, which is a tiny little island with a population of 60 million and an incredibly large population density, only comes in as the 64th worst country for crime rates. Australia is at 69 and Canada is chillin back as the 80th worst country for crime rates.

nationmaster.com

Never the less, America's murder rate is just absolutely staggering and the sole reason for that, is undeniably those stupidly laxs gun laws.

Sorry, don't mean to offend, you gotta know that I personally love American culture, as a whole... But if any of you American citizens were looking from the outside in, like us Aussies, Canadians and Pomes are, then you would realize just how idiotic you all come across as, when you all try to defend your ridiculously lax gun laws, so passionately.

If you remove Chicago, DC, New Orleans and Detroit, the US falls to the fourth country from the bottom - those cities have the strictest gun laws.

As an American looking from the outside in .. what happened to the real men in Australia that decided to relinquish their responsibility to protect their families over to the government?

I suppose Aussie blokes decided they didn't even need a gun to be a man and protect there family.

As a result we had an overall murder rate of 1.24 per 100,000 people in 2012, America had a murder rate of 5.32 per 100,000 people in 2012.

We have mental illness, drug & gang violence problems too. We just don't have all those murders and mass shootings... which is clearly a result of implementing common sense gun regulations.

UCC Was Not A ‘Gun Free Zone’ Because Public Colleges In Oregon Can’t Ban Guns

The conservative site Breitbart and others assert that guns were banned at UCC. This is not true. The student code of conduct bans guns "without written authorization." Under Oregon law, the university could not ban people with a valid concealed carry license from bringing their weapons on campus. (They could ban gun from various buildings and facilities.) Conservative writer Dana Loesch, who initially claimed the campus was a "gun free zone," updated her article to clarify that individuals with concealed carry permits were allowed to bring guns on campus.

There was, in fact, someone on campus with a concealed carry weapon at the time of the massacre. A local reporter explained to CNN that it was legal for him to have such a weapon on campus.
