How can a mother know,
That her child wouldn’t survive?
What does it mean,
To carry your future,
Only to have life take him away.

I left a boy alone in this world,
And I can’t find the strength to console.
A friend of mine buys a drink,
But I’m sorry I can’t speak!

This world kills my soul,
I shouldn’t have arrived in this place.
I thought I inflicted all I could take.
The truth is worse than I could ever know.

Today we feel so low,
Are we still alive?
We carry upstream,
We love for the u-turn,
A hole in tomorrow aching today.

If it's just a nod or a word,
I can't find the sense to withhold.
Make the salt ink,
We will be intrigued.

You will fill the hole,
Passport photo happy face.
A smile so small a drop to a lake.
And sometimes bigger than you could ever show.

I honestly don't mean to be insolent. Or disrespectful.
I like your poem.
