Aerogel,

Interesting stuff. I've never seen it for sale anywhere.
I've seen it made for specific purposes, Like insulating spacecraft.

I even wrote and sold an article about it, to a newspaper.
When researching the article, I did find some "recipes" and techniques
for making it. But none were very simple.
