I just want to know who has the fastest connection on ATS & BTS. Yeah, I'm bored....

Go to this website and clock your bandwidth, and be sure to include a screenshot so we know you're not lying.

Comcast says: 4000 kbps
In reality: 2146.2 kbps

Comcast does not offer 4mbps service, they say itll fluctuate as high as 3.4mbps. But will not maintain higher than that, since maximum speed is 3mbps.

Also, cNet is not a very reliable test. It just sends 1small file packet to your computer, then multiplys it to be within a second. Tests like from DSLReports send files of different sizes and get a more reliable answer.

But heres my cNet test, at about 3.5mbps.
And heres my DSLR test, at about 2.6mbps.

The upload speed on the DSLR test is hindered, due to me uploading a file at the same time.

I do when at work. Gov't server. Down side, no flash. They think that it will take us away from our work. Pfft.

You can ask DLM... he's green with envy of my speeds...

I use Cablevision's Optimum Online... 10,000k/s capable connection...

I normally get speeds of 8,000-9,500k/s...

here are some pics...

Intrepid, any idea exactly how fast yours is? Curiosity got the better of me and now I have to know.

BLEW ME AWAY?? It was 3957 (you) to 3953 (me)... thats only a 4k/s difference...

...in the third shot of mine with the 9.5, I turned off router, let it sit and then turned it back on.. that supercharged me. After taking the 9.5 shot, I got a 9.8, but was too lazy to take another screenshot...

...plus, as I quoted DLM earlier, CNET is not very reliable for the reason he stated. That's also why i showed the Optimum Online speed check and the Bandwidth Place's results.

BTW, Shadow... where in NY do you live? I live in upper Westchester County.

Nice to meet a fellow Optimum Online user... we can smoke the competition!

Well, here are my results.

And I like to ask one question:

I pay 35 Euro/month.

Currently, I pay $30/month (until July 05), then it goes back to the standard $45/month... I get a year of $30 because I also signed up for the VoIP service Optimum Voice (read about that in here -- www.belowtopsecret.com...).

I WOULD convert the money... but I'm currently 20 mins late for church.

I get an awsome deal. I get my phone, Cable TV(Digital, and 200+ channels), Blazing fast Internet access, all for $145(US) a month. Its a package my cable company offers called triple play.

Phone, Cable TV (channels 2-97, except 26), and 3.0 mbps internet all for $48 a month. It was $19.95 for the first 6 months, though.

I was able to download X-Plane at 300+ kbps using bittorrent, connected to 6 peers. Second picture is 5 minutes later, according to my watch.

110.2 - 36.3 = 74.8 5 = 14.96 MB/min.

Not to shabby if you ask me!

For the record, on cNet, if you press the back button, your score will jump extremely high because cNet doesn't clear the file from your cache, hence you already have the file, so a near 40.0 mbps shows up.

Here are a few speedtests that I took.
Charter says that I am on a 2 MB (maybe even 1.5 they switched the packages up a while ago) So I think I am doing good.

And then I put the nitro in my modem:

I might try to tweak my settings and run these tests again. Any suggestions or tips for tweaking would be appreciated.

*Edit* I now remenber the site with a good TCP/IP analyzer, a good optimizer program, and many registry patches and articles for tweaking your internet connection. www.speedguide.net...
