I don't want to go to Tunisia.

And I was not a "tourist" - I was staying with locals, whom I had known for a couple of years. It was FAR from "tourism."

But, you all can keep up with your bile-spewing vitriol if you like. Doesn't change anything.

A lot of those "grass is greener" places have their flaws that people wouldn't find all that attractive if they actually lived there, even in the Scandinavian countries.

So I saw that and had to check the numbers. At $61,000 she's paying a 37.92% tax on income, municipal and health care. If she actually owns property she's paying up to another 3.4% of land value. If she is a member of the Denmark state church she's getting taxed another 1.5%

61,000 then taxed = 37,890 leftover, which sounds great but then has 25% VAT on everything she buys.

Then I find this:

Consumer Prices in Denmark are 17.52% higher than in United States
Consumer Prices Including Rent in Denmark are 7.40% higher than in United States
Rent Prices in Denmark are 14.81% lower than in United States
Restaurant Prices in Denmark are 48.30% higher than in United States
Groceries Prices in Denmark are 8.08% lower than in United States
Local Purchasing Power in Denmark is 3.66% higher than in United States

Utilities in Denmark are 26.04% higher than in the USA

Yeah, real utopia there. Make sure they can eat at home and rent, not much else.

"Such being the impressions under which I have, in obedience to the public summons, repaired to the present station; it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official Act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the Universe, who presides in the Councils of Nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that his benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the People of the United States, a Government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes: and may enable every instrument employed in its administration to execute with success, the functions allotted to his charge. In tendering this homage to the Great Author of every public and private good I assure myself that it expresses your sentiments not less than my own; nor those of my fellow-citizens at large, less than either. No People can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand, which conducts the Affairs of men more than the People of the United States. Every step, by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation, seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency. And in the important revolution just accomplished in the system of their United Government, the tranquil deliberations and voluntary consent of so many distinct communities, from which the event has resulted, cannot be compared with the means by which most Governments have been established, without some return of pious gratitude along with an humble anticipation of the future blessings which the past seem to presage. These reflections, arising out of the present crisis, have forced themselves too strongly on my mind to be suppressed. You will join with me I trust in thinking, that there are none under the influence of which, the proceedings of a new and free Government can more auspiciously commence."

You know it's the left trying to pass VA funding bills and the right blocking them?

Have you been to a VA in the last 10 years?

Nothings changed.

And nothing would change with Cruz. Because congress would still be congress and the constitution would still be the constitution.

I'd like to blame everything on a president, but there are 3 facets of government. And they all suck.

I get most if not all of my care from the VA, have been treated very well, and am not sure where the problems lie, the care is very much like it was when I was active duty.

Since he refers to a Supreme Being, the Almighty, he is either Christian or Luciferian. Which do you think he is? Christians, btw, often refer to God.

Or a Diest, A Jew, a muslim, a Hindu, a Zoroastrian etc.

Martin J. Medhurst, a professor of rhetoric and communication at Baylor, a private Baptist university in Waco, Texas, says formulations such as "the Almighty" and "Divine Providence" were part of "a common language adopted by the revolutionary generation in part to avoid the kind of divisiveness that more specific formulations might engender."

Just a note he also was a politician and not everybody had the founders education. He was making an address to the public to get everyone pumped up. Never find him mention Jesus strangely enough because they thought he was a wise man and the bible was largely false.

Sweetie I KNOW what democratic socialism is and it's just not realistic to think that the govt can take care of everyone's' needs snd who would want that anyway. With it comes all the nanny state totalitarianism. That's what mussolinis fascism was and he coined the term as Jonah Goldberg cites in his book "Liberal Fascism". Liberals seem to believe that it was only soviet style communism which failed but the socialist system
Never did and never will bring whiteness and prosperity.

They were diests.

"Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man"- Thomas

Jefferson

"The hocus-pocus phantasm of a God like another Cerberus, with one body and three heads, had its birth and growth in the blood of thousands and thousands of martyrs." -Thomas Jefferson

"And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter. But we may hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with all this artificial scaffolding, and restore to us the primitive and genuine doctrines of this the most venerated reformer of human errors."- Thomas Jefferson

Did you know Jesus Christ was omitted from the declaration by design. It was modelled after Lockes 2nd treaty of government.

Locke was a Christian Diest. He didn't believe in the hocus pocus part of the bible.

I wish there was at least a Christian apologist on the board they can at least debate well. Love me some William Lane Craig.

Can someone tell me why a right wing fanatic is worse than a left wing fanatic?

How about because there are no left-wing fanatics in any important positions of power, while the right wing has a huge infrastructure?

In theory both are equally bad, but in our country the right has far too much power already.

Far to much power?

Maybe you haven't heard about the the NY District Attorney that literally just banned the possession or application for possession of firearms for ANY county prosecutors.

Maybe you missed that gay marriage just became legal via the conservative SC

Maybe you missed that crazy dingbat Davis that went to jail for refusing to issue licenses and who is now being called out by none other than fox news.

Maybe you have missed all the kids that have gotten suspended for making finger guns, pop tart guns and paper clip guns.

Maybe you missed that Black Students in Oakland Schools (in California) can no longer be suspended, for any reason.

Maybe you've missed the several occurrences of schools that have created exclusionary events for children (black students only, Mexican students only, etc.)

And also, are you serious about 'no left wing fanatics in any important positions"???!

Obama, Eric Holder, Lois Lerner, the actual head of the IRS, the extremist environmentalist head of the EPA, a young new Liberal judge on the Supreme court, John Kerry who has somehow contorted that global warming is actually the cause of terrorism, not the stuck in the 6th century, woman beating Imams.

There is a difference between UN-intentional ignorance and burying your head in the sand. I'm pretty sure you are guilty of the latter. Switch the channel from MSNBC every once in a while. It's hard to fathom you can truly believe what you have just said.

And I suppose this comes from some 65 YO SS and Medicare recipient, who watches fox news all day, when he is not listening to Rush, waiting to go to the early bird?

Sorry you haven't been following what Christians actually talk about. We don't just invoke Jesus in everything, He's mostly for our salvation and forgiveness. When it comes to being watched over and receiving blessings, we usually refer to God the Father.

Oh yes - just the other day we were stoning gays, setting fire to militants, blowing up kids in school buses, circumcising some little girls, and topping that off with some decapitations of atheists... all because they refuse to worship God. Totally the same thing.

Seriously, ease off the rhetoric.
