Colorado Judge Arrested By Citizen Militia
By Rita Goodstory, Staff Writer - Denver Post
12-29-4

DENVER -- Once again, four members of the Americans for Justice Militia entered a judge's office to place a sitting judge under arrest. At 9:45 this morning the small, unarmed group arrived at the 2nd District Court (1437 Bannock Street), flashed their AJM credentials, and instructed the clerk to escort them to Judge Wilson's office.

Judge Wilson was read the charges and was peacefully arrested by Denver AJM members Tom Cooley, William Adamson, Jeffrey Wilson (no relation), and Cynthia Washington. The four calmly walked the arrested judge without handcuffs to the neighboring police station for booking and incarceration, pending a bail hearing.

Police Captain Hermano Gutierrez refused to comment, but William Anderson, a senior AJM member, read the following statement for the media:

"Judges in Denver and throughout Colorado were first put on notice by Rick Stanley in 2002. Every judge has taken an oath to uphold and defend the constitutions of the United States and the State of Colorado, and the citizens of Colorado have the right and the duty to enforce that oath. Judges who show blatant disregard for the law are held accountable to the law, if not by our hired servants in government then by the citizens themselves. Regretably, this is our nineteenth arrest. We would prefer this to be the last, but that is entirely up to the judges."

The militia dispersed by 10:15 a.m. when they returned to their full-time jobs as store clerk (Cooley), programmer (Adamson), elementary school teacher (Wilson), and peace officer (Washington).

That's strange, but isn't the first time it'd have happened.

It'll be interesting to see if the google cached page disappears as well. I know google has done that before, under different circumstances.

Yeah. Nothing comes up under Google or Yahoo. Gone.

Also, I saw this story originally in Yahoo newsgroups; and all references to it have been deleted from every group I participate in (22 groups).

That says "volumes."

I did a little digging.
I googled for the listed militia, and found links to the story from Rense, and libertythink (noteably no links to the Denver Post, or to their own website?). Both links failed to open the story, but google has it cashed.

I couldn't find anything else, so I googled the listed author's name Rita Goodstory. Interesting last name for a columnist isn't it? There are 4 links to that name listed. All are about this story. One of the links is still up at parapolitics.

Anyway, I found it interesting that no other news was running this, and that a writer only has 4 links found in google, all for the same story, so I went to the Denver post, and looked at their staff links. I could not find Rita Goodstory listed as a staff member or blog member, or letter to editor etc. (As I suspected) However, if you wish to pursue why the killed the story, you could simply call or email the Denver Post here.

Which brings me to a question to you.

To verify and/or validate the accuracy and outcome of this case, contact rick@stanley2002.org. I've talked to Rick and he's straight arrow.

Who is Rick Stanley, and where did his name come into the story. I did not see his name anywhere. Perhaps I overlooked it? And why contact him, not the Post?

My personal opinion at this point is that a bogus story was passed to the above mentioned webs, and then they got a call from the post that let them know it was bogus, and they need to pull it or the Post would take action.

I immediately emailed the Post to verify the story; but it's a holiday.

Why Rick Stanley is involved is that he is moderator of groups working to restore Constitutional governance in the State of Colorado and also an object of judicial ire. And I've talked to him personally at length, so I know he'll tell us what's going on.

We'll probably have to wait until the Post opens on Monday to complete the validation or repudiation of this article. I'll be the first one at the door.

Hate to spread what isn't true. But, someone should have placed a note in the POST's "corrections" section, if this story is found to be false. I would think.

Agreed, it's just that I find no reference anywhere that the POST actually posted the article to begin with. The only references I find are to the "Alternative sites". Combine that with a writer named Rita Goodstory with no history?

Ahem, Please let us know what the POST reply's.

Uhm, I'm beginning to get a little red-faced about this story myself.

I'll be checking into it with a lot of enthusiasm on Monday Morning when the Denver Post wakes up. If I can reach Rick, also, that'll help.

Can we just put it on ice til then, Banshee?

Eeeek.

Actually, defrag, let's keep looking into it.

Rense is the one who'll have the red face if(when) we find out it's a bunch of bullhockey.

Remember, deny ignorance. Exposing frauds is a good way to do that so we can get down to the real nitty gritty, neh?

Okay, I'll be on it first thing Monday morning, on the phone to the Denver Post and Rick Stanley. They should have opposing views, if anything.

I truly don't like being caught with my fly open.

Perhaps part of your investigation should include an email to Rense or his webmaster?

If I remember right, (I'll have to double check), they were the first of the "independants" to run the story.

Perhaps they can explain where they got the story from, and why they pulled it.

Shoulda checked with Rick Stanley first.

Quote:

"STANLEY NOTE: The original release noted this story was a SATIRE. Subsequent postings of the story deleted the SATIRE posting. Many seemed to wish it were true."

Not true.

[slinks off sheepishly]

Well--

Originally, it was posted as a spoof.

Sorry to stir up the dust unnecessarily. Maybe it was wishful thinking.

wOOt! My thoughts too!

I suppose you might get that answer from the American Civil Liberties Union

If this does turn out to be valid my take on this is that Google and Yahoo made it disappear because it can be used by citizens to hold judges accountable not to mention the average American citizen does not know that they can do this legally. My hat is off to the 4 men who went about this house cleaning. If the word got out could you just see the judges on the city and state level running for their life? It's about time we citizens should dole out justice to those who refuse to use commen sense to those who are standing in front of them!
