Yeah, Americans, a shooting in England. Very rare over here, compare to your 200 a day.

Error 404. Logic not found.

To be fair most of them are criminals and dont deserve a second though to b e honest. Yeah its rare in the UK(now since the IRA has stopped terrorist attacks) Still the criminals get weapons despite the ban. THATS what were getting at.

...and yet, shootings are still rare, even thought according to you guys, the criminals all have em and can get them easily. Funny that eh?

Not the point. point is they can still get them even with a strict regulation on them in the UK. Its a great example of what would happen as well in the US if we had similiar control.
And also the US isnt the only country with mass shootings. Its just the one that gets focused on the most..

No, thats ENTIRELY the point. 100% the point.

And what other countries? Brazil? Mexico? Well done, great company the US is keeping there....lol

The rate of violent crime and sexual assaults, including rapes, puts the UK in the same neighborhood as these countries as well.

In fact, your violent crime rate is much higher than that in the US, despite the nearly 300 million guns we have. Obviously the gun isn't the problem. Banning guns in your country was probably the right thing to do, because as we all know responsible gun ownership is fine, but allowing the idiot majority over there who want to rape, rob, and murder to have weapons would have been horrible.

It would appear that allowing responsible, trained, and law-abiding people is a deterrent to violent crimes and sexual assaults.. But you've all been so brainwashed over there in to thinking firearms are somehow uncivilized. Meanwhile, your military and police have access to what you are prohibited from. Pretty civilized country you live in, eh?

On topic, it sucks that someone was killed in the streets of London, but the truth of the matter is it happens more often than we think. The only reason we're hearing about this is because of the improperly used tool (read gun) that was used to end this poor bastard's life.

Just another way for the media to fool the good people of England into thinking guns are the problem.

We are not talking about violent crimes, we are talking about gun crime

Also, why would it be problem to have the police and military armed? That makes no sense. Not only that, but most police are not armed.

You have been brainwashed into thinking that dead schoolkids and mass gun crime is an acceptable price to pay so that you can play with your toys.

its very simple, come back to me when we have school shootings, cinema mass shootings etc...

until then, you guys have no argument and i'm not saying anything more.

GUn killings every day in middle east countries, african countries, south american countries and they all are usually more dead than any of the biggest killings in th e US with guns. ANd if you go by population the percentage o f gun crimes is actually pretty low.

Cue all the pro-gun Americans posting saying this wouldn't happen if we had similar gun laws as there's, blah blah blah.

Apples and pears.

NO WAY. Guns are BAAADDDD. You could have prevented this if you banned hand guns!!! Duh.

Well done...you have better gun crime statistics than the middle east and some african countries. You must be very proud.

Shame there's no gun ban or heavy restrictions there. Could've prevented this from happening.

Glad it wasn't worse at least!

O look a American trying to force his culture on us.....

# happens like this......but unlike the USA in the UK murders like this are beyond rare.

I respect your country has a culture. Its yours and I wont change it. But dammed if we in the UK want it here.

I've been using this line to shut down the argument in real life for a couple of years now. It never ceases to amaze me how quiet they get after.

We've been over this trying to compare UK v's US gun stats and it never works out as you could get done for 5-10 years just for walking down the road with a shotgun strapped to your back while taking a wander through the town but in texas hey ho...why only one shotgun for example and the cops just drive by

That's the problem, you shut your ears to anything you don't already believe in.

Violent crime is absolutely a more relevant metric regarding this particular discussion, considering 99.999% of people keep firearms for sport, practice, and SELF DEFENSE. What happens to the rate of violent crimes when you remove guns from law abiding citizens? Well, if we use your country as an example it seems to RISE.

You're trying to frame the argument in a way that doesn't hurt your soft little brain, and I can understand that.. But some day you're going to have to put on your big-boy britches and face reality.
