The incident happened at 1 pm this afternoon , police say they were called to Chatsworth Road , Hackney where they found the wounded victim who died at the scene , the picture in the linked article shows the scene of the shooting to be a shopping area.

Passers-by described how people “jumped to the ground and scattered” as they heard gunshots in Hackney, running from the scene.

Police were called to Chatsworth Road shortly before 1.15pm on Saturday and found the wounded victim.

“Specialist firearms officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a man with injuries consistent with being shot,” a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said. “He was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The victim’s age has not been announced but witnesses described him as a “kid”. His relatives have not yet been informed of his death.

Another sad day for London and its battle with gang violence , this latest incident shows a new level of stupidity , thankfully no innocent bystanders were injured.

Shame there's no gun ban or heavy restrictions there. Could've prevented this from happening.

Glad it wasn't worse at least!

I presume that was sarcasm since London and all of England have some seriously restrictive gun laws. But of course you know that when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns, right? Lol

Cheers - Dave

Cue all the pro-gun Americans posting saying this wouldn't happen if we had similar gun laws as there's, blah blah blah.

Apples and pears.

Those pro-gun people wouldn't be here saying those things if the anti-gun guys from across the pond didn't always say the opposite every time there is a thread about guns here in the US...or killings. I think it's meant to illustrate how the usual sentiment is so wrong.

Thread: somebody killed with a gun!

Cue all the pro/anti gun comments.

Cue all the comments from the other end of the pro/anti spectrum.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

It's cute that it's somehow different when it happens in the UK though.

Like clockwork!

Yeah too bad the shooter didn't have an M-4 with a 200 round drum magazine, he could have taken out 30 instead of 1!

sigh...

I seem to be in a really bad mood with ATS these days.

So we have a thread about what looks like a gang related shooting in London.

In a intelligent discussion one would expect the conversation to be about gang crime, how they are getting their guns, the police response and so on.

But oh-no, not on ATS, on ATS we turn this into a thread about American gun control.

Getting really fed up of this guys.

Meh, it's that #ty place known as London again, no surprise, we in the provinces just beat each other with fists/bats/knives, or in appropriate circumstances kidnap and bury enemies in the moors.
Guns, meh, cowards, much better class of gangsters outside of London.

When you consider that 80% of gun violence in America is gang related, it is a valid comparison.

Considering how many shooting cases they have per year I would say their gun restrictions are working.

And just how many tyrants has the US overthrown since 1789?

I've never felt threatened or scared from getting shot in England. lol
This was most probably gang related like most. They usually just kill each other.

It's amazing how self righteous the anti-gunners are when they jump feet first into a thread about an American shooting.

And how butt-hurt they get when a pro-gunner does the same thing to them.

Yeah, Americans, a shooting in England. Very rare over here, compare to your 200 a day.

Error 404. Logic not found.
