Why would you think Americans aren't aware of Slade?

They LIVED in the US for a couple of years in the 1970s, turning their back on their own fans back home.

Then, after a lull in the late 70s (because of punk), they resumed their offensive on the States, turning out a few hits over there which were very successful, and touring extensively - and almost exclusively - in the US.

Like a lot of British acts, they were preoccupied with conquering America because it's the biggest, most lucrative market.
