yea kinda like the enormous out cry over the muslim flight attendant that refused to serve alcohol

I have no problem admitting I am hypocritical

if you really had not heard tom petty then you are in for quite a treat with his music

Why don't we leave Muslims out of this thread.

It has nothing to do with Muslims.

I'm not really a big music fan at this point in my life...

as far as the muslim stewardess...
I gave my view on that and made the comparisons between that and kim in one of the threads. you probably read it...
in both instances accommodations were offered, witht he stewardess they were tried and failed. with kim, well she just refused them, kind of that my way or the highway attitude if you know what I mean. the employee is not guaranteed an accommodation, just that an attempt be made.

It is not an aspect in this case.

no compromise was offered to kim until after she was thrown in jail

before the judge locked her up her lawyer asked to have someone else in the office issue the license

he denied her and locked her up then 6 days later the judge decided at that point that the lawyers request to have someone else issue the license was a good idea and ordered her to do so. at that point kim was bent out of shape and said no

gay marriage was not legal when kim took office and she worked in the same office for 25 yrs without issue

serving drinks was a job requirement when the flight girl took the job

How many judges do you need stating she does not qualify as "burdened"?

Nothing in her job description changed. She took an oath to abide by the Constitution.

Her problem.

Not an elected government clerk who swore an oath to abide by the Constitution.

There's no parallel.

the point I alluded to was that others in the thread were asking the question of "what if kim was a muslim"

I was only exploring the thought raised by others

And the answer is: she is an elected government clerk who swore to abide by the Constitution.

NO. The job did not change.

Her job is to verify clerical information.

This inability to humanize a situation will be used against you in the future.

Many call it karma

Enjoy your mumbo jumbo stew

I was raised in Metaphysics in the 50s ---- before most people were aware of it.

Karma? "Every Thought is an Action".

You take an oath, you abide by that oath --- or remove yourself. You don't transfer blame elsewhere.

she was the danged supervisor of a team of deputies. she probably could have, if she chose to, just assigned on of them to handle the marriages and hid in her office. her problem all along was that her signature, her name is on the lisences....something which well is required by state law....

gay marriage was not legal when kim took office and she worked in the same office for 25 yrs without issue

in one of the videos of the interview she had with whoever it was, well she seems to be saying she started petitioning the office holders of the state to change it to protect those who have religious beliefs soon after being elected...remember, she only got one reply....
she knew very well that there was a good possibility that this would be a requirement of the job while she was running for office!!!

There was a group that got together and petitioned. They were denied.

I don't know if she did so on her own too.

she says on the video that she sent letters out to a bunch of people soon after she was elected. I'm taking her own words...
so well, I can't imagine that she didn't know of the possibility of this before she took her oath...

Well she is a believer and knows that anything is possible.

I do not think she should have forseen that the confused 9 would seek to break down the moral fabric of America.

Even annee was surprised.

Technically Same Sex Marriage has been Legal since the creation of the 14th Amendment, the states created laws to violate the constitution and deny it

she foreseen enough to write letters asking that the state policies by changed before it happened.
and as far as faith and miracles go...here's a story for ya...
a couple we knew while we were going to church decided to move. they went and looked at this really nice apartment that was quite a bit out of their price range. any normal sane person would have kept looking but they didn't... oh, no they prayed, they claimed it, they believed, and they signed the lease...
and then well, a few months later, they were moving out of that really nice apartment. faith is a good thing but well, it's better not to stick your neck out to be chopped off on faith...since sometimes god says no...
