pressing the issue will back fire

It certainly will, the stupid woman has already been to jail, expect her to be back there soon. Her choice, she should just do her job, why is that so hard for her to do?

Not many seem to value the will of the people

This is the reason she will remain the county clerk

only a small handful oppose her

everyone else supports her in the area

I value constitutional law far more.

Only our representatives are democratically elected.

The United States is a Constitutional Republic not a pure democracy.

It doesn't matter how many oppose or support her. We are a nation of laws.

We are a nation of interpreted laws and this one will be reinterpreted.

This event and these three will be the fuel for the whole thing failing.

Surely you all can find fault with laws being passed from the bench

I mean since the constitution is being thrown into this debate so much you can tell me what is wrong with judges making law?

somewhere elsewhile understanding that this is a new law and a few in the crowd may need time to adjust

There was no law passed. It's not a new law. No legislating from the bench. Marriage bans were found to be unconstitutional, so they were voided.

Kim Davis' job description includes and has always included issuing marriage licenses to legally qualified couples of Rowan County. She wasn't there to approve of the marriage. Her job is clerical. She's not a judge. Nothing changed about her job.

this will result in supreme court decision overturning the original ruleing

Don't hold your breath on that.

duh and she would have eventually figured something out

How long did she need? She's been refusing ALL marriage licenses since June! How long did she need? The governor told her IN JUNE that she needed to do her job. She had MONTHS to "figure something out", but didn't.

Can you name the law that was passed at the bench??

The judges only upheld the existing laws.

Well, she can't have all the time she needs. She has a job to do and it's NOT denying the people of her county their legal, constitutionally protected rights.

And there's nothing "militant" about requesting a marriage license or pressuring someone who is denying your legal rights.

Shannon and Carmen Wampler-Collins, who live in Lexington, Ky., said they decided to obtain a license in Rowan County because Carmen grew up in the community and wanted to show locals that it's OK to be gay.

Yes, they have that right.

Very true, Kim should have judged a lot better and just done her job!

thank you for proving my point

Wrong again, the stupid woman, Kim, is the only one who wanted war, all she had to do was her job.
