The Christian conservative right was mostly invented by moneyed interests as a way to rebel against 1930's Socialist policies. They co-opted preachers across the nation to preach god and country and that Socialism was evil. You may be familiar with this tactic, it requires someone to pretend like Socialism and Communism are the exact same thing.

Well now if the RIGHT doesn't have a right for their opinions.

Neither does the LEFT.

Exactly...

I think it is fair to say though, that it is functionally impossible for someone who truly believes in Jesus and his love, and the path of that faith, to support a party which could even CONSIDER Romney as a candidate. The two are mutually exclusive. On the one hand you have the centre of all love in the world, our saviour, Christ Almighty and his epic, unlimited compassion and love, and then you have what amounts to Satan. It is impossible to dig both of these concepts without some serious wool over ones eyes.

Would you disagree?

You mean like Occupy Wall Street and the pretend ideology that Capitalism is a form of Fascism?

As soon as you come up with a version of "socialism" that I can opt in and out of as I please, I'll consider it, but right now, it all comes with a good deal of government force behind it.

Uh... sure... Though I don't know what you are talking about. I haven't seen very many people suggest that Capitalism is a form of Fascism. Would you care to provide me with some links? Though I have seen quite a bit of people equate Socialism with Communism.

I really don't care about your opinion on Socialism. My post was a history lesson about the origins of the Christian right.

You mean the Christian Conservative right who

Fought for womens rights while the left tried to keep them from voting

Fought for black Civil Rights, while the left and democrats tried to keep it from happening

Fought a Civil War to stop slavery, started by that crazy Right winger Christian Abe Lincoln

your hate truly runs deep for Conservatives and Christians, but I thought Id remind you of just how horrible we are with the above facts

and since you wanted to try a History Lesson, I thought id give you one in turn

You'll excuse me if I found nothing instructive about it. It sounds a good deal like the whole Democrats became Republicans and that's how we avoid discussing Bull Conner ...

You confuse Republicans of the past with conservatives. Conservatives have never fought for women's right or black civil liberties, and they most certainly did not fight to end slavery. Liberal Republicans fought for those things while Conservative Democrats fought against it.

If you favor the side that fights for equal rights and sought to end slavery, you might consider the values of a Liberal Republican more in line with your values.

So let me get this straight.

As the obligatory evil right winger in the thread just because I don't support state sponsored BIG GOVERNMENT CORPORATE FASCISM of FREE birth control pills.

Means I don't like women!

Too damn funny.

I think it is more accurate to say, that if you do not agree that a woman should be equal to a man in terms of her ability to engage in sexual intercourse without having to necessarily bear a child in the event that conception occurs, then yes, you probably have a problem of some sort.

Not a left winger that plays the victim card.

No it's more accurate to say if a woman wants to have sex?

SHE CAN PAY FOR IT HERSELF.

However people are free to make the state her pimp.

Oh yes, and I must now be self-loathing ... as a Conservative Christian woman married to Conservative Christian minority.

That is the most ridiculous, empty headed thing I have ever heard. It takes two to make a baby, and only one of those people cannot escape the consequences without medical aid. Simply put, you DO have a problem with women, if you think they should be paying on their own, for something they had to have a mans help to cause to happen.

The facepalm is stronger with you than usual tonight... Are you ok?
