The last place I lived had water so bad that it would form a pancake sized glob on top of a pot of boiling water.
I made a still out of copper tubing and a pressure cooker and discovered that burning free stove gas I could make about one cup of distilled water an hour.
Maybe the same rate of distillation could be got from sunshine and mirrors, or aluminum foil.

You'd think so, but the city expressed puzzlement regarding the fire hydrant mystery. And dismissed it as "tampering". Which of course is total BS. It still happens, every single night in the warm months. But they refuse to acknowledge it and all of the good little citizens go right back to complacency. Easier that way, I suppose.

Yes, I have seen that before with this water, but it's the lime and other hard mineral deposits...not sure what goodies you might have had in your water, but definitely visible on top of boiling water, as you described. They cause kidney stones and gallbladder stones...yet people drink that swill anyway.
The only problem with distilled water is that it has none of the good trace minerals in it. I got a huge lecture about that from my internist because I was drinking distilled for a while and not supplementing the good stuff that is removed from it during the process. But at least it has none of the bad stuff in it either, which appeals to me more. At this point, I wouldn't trust any city's water...no matter how it tastes.
It has been said that electrolytes are all you need until 2% body fat. I think K, Ca, Na, and Mg are the ones you need on a daily basis.

Interesting.
I suppose you have some evidence to support that claim?
Global diabetes hotspots are at the forefront of the problem, including the USA, China and India, yet diabetes is now truly global.
The diabetes epidemic is largely focused around massively increased rates of obesity.

I'm very disappointed in the fact that almost all of you on ATS have lost the plot as to what the OP is about.

That's one answer.
How about the other questions?
How do they relate to this claim of yours:
