Well, sure. If it were a sungrazing object, then it would be big. If it were an object near the camera, then it would be smaller. If it were an object waaaayyyy in the background far beyond the Sun, then it would be tremendously huge on a cosmic scale. If it weren't an object at all, but rather some sort of camera artifact, then the size is irrelevant...

...etc, etc.

I mean, We could play this game all day.

Ok, well I was merely responding to your previous post, where you doubted that it was "ginormous" in size. And I said that if it is indeed an object that is grazing the undeniably ginormous sun and we are able to clearly see it, logic would dictate that it'd have to be quite large itself. I don't care much for games. I was responding to what you said:

If it is an object in space, I'm not sure how you can gauge the size as "ginormous" without knowing how far it is from the camera.

Just so you know Dahboo77 is a well known doom porn pusher on youtube...the source for the OP video.

Not very credible unless you like unfounded dahboo #e.

Right. I was specifically saying that it may not be "ginormous", contrary to the OP saying that it WAS ginormous.

I stand by that statement. The OP said it was "ginormous", and my response was that we can't tell that if it is ginormous without knowing how far away it is. It maybe be small, it may be big, or it may be huge (or it may not be an object at all).

Read the caption for that image you posted.

Both links work fine for me, I checked them just now..

Here is the caption from the link.

STEP 3: Voila! Finally, after a "touch-up" of the color table, we have what may look like a nice UFO with a glow and exhaust fumes!

That things got a tail, the kind we normally see on pics of comets and asteroids gazing the sun every now and than, but who knows what it is.

But for something that relatively big, the story doesn't hold water if only one person reports it out of thousands gazing the skies, so highly probably that it is a fake. I am 99% sure on this.

Peace

It's not fake, the picture I posted is straight from SOHO's page LASCO3 images, that's where the video man got his image, in other words the image is real, but it's not an image of a Comet, as the OP is speculating because the image is in only one frame. Had it been a Comet, you would need multiple frames over some time, (like in days) to get what you see here. To get some perspective on that, the SOHO spacecraft is something like 92 million miles from the Sun, with a further view of 12 million miles beyond the Sun. However, the picture is unusual, I'm not even sure how so much detail was enabled in that one frame, but it must mean that it was something very close, but even there? or that there was some residual parts of another image carried over from another time, but not directly before or after.

Ah, well...assuming it actually is an object, I will have to stand by my statement that in order to be that clearly visible, it's got to be pretty huge...using the sun as a comparison, of course.

However, it has occurred to me that size perception beyond something immediately measurable is extremely relative and subjective; most recently evidenced by the fact that my perception of the size of a big, whopping spider crawling across the porch yesterday and my friend's perception were wayyyyyyy off from each other...I perceived it to be gargantuan (I may or may not have have screamed a little), while she was not impressed in the least by an arachnid large enough to cast a shadow on the concrete...no matter the distance...and I was not about to get close enough to measure it. Because I'm a wuss like that.

The video itself, however, is a legitimate one from SOHO's LASCO3 footage; I'd say it's plenty credible and definitely not unfounded in this case. Doom porn aside, the image is legit...and definitely did not behave like a comet.
