Republicans refusing to allow Obama to do anything does not make him an unsuccessful president. The republicans are a pitiful bunch

It's really about the acceleration of the inexorable descent into socialism that he has presided over.

The ACA is just a component of the hugely successful Cloward–Piven strategy.

If you think the ACA is socialist then you are clueless as to what socialist really is about. The ACA is just more corporate welfare and is nothing more than capitalism forced on the people.

All the countries in the EU still have their autonomy... They still retain their culture, heritage, and language. Who cares what's printed on the coins in their pockets. What makes a German a German or a Frenchman a Frenchman isn't what trade deal is being passed or what color their money is. It's in here *taps chest*. The EU hasn't taken that away from the people of Europe.

I would say, personally, it's a mixed bag at best. His signature achievement, the ACA, has a 44% approval rate in most recent polling www.gallup.com...
Since we're talking about the whole nation here, I'd have to say that's not a success unless the majority approves, which they do not. The rest of it depends on your definition of concepts like "growth", "unemployment," and what your opinion on meddling with the leadership of a sovreign nation because the dictator there offends corporate interests in the US...

Well if you want to be honest about things. Since Republicans are so quick to call out Obama for every slip that is made in the country, where is the credit for all the good things in the country?

The unemployment rate is currently at 5.1. The Stock Market has recovered from its 2008 crash. Gay marriage can't be illegal. Marijuana laws are relaxing.

This is why these threads are stupid. No one wants to be completely honest about everything that Obama has done. It's all just bitch bitch bitch because things aren't EXACTLY how they want them to be. After 7 years of listening to it (and I'll admit I joined in for a good period of time), I'm just tired of them.

The most ridiculous claim in the Op is that Obama has caused our country to be in decline. Obama took control of the country at the height of the 2008 crash and proceeded to turn the economy around. Sure it didn't happen overnight, but it's not like we have constant threads complaining about the imminent collapse of the economy anymore. Heck, speaking about constant threads. There used to be constant threads from right wing posters whining that Obama hasn't fixed the economy fast enough. Then when he does, no one wants to give him credit for having done what they've been complaining about him not doing for the last so many years. Saying that our country is in decline couldn't be any more dishonest. That is a straight up lie.

LOL, you and I agree on that!

It is continuation of the Bush "prescription drug" welfare given to the pharmaceutical industry. This on just enriches the Insurance Companies and Special Interests groups.

Check out what the Cloward-Piven strategy is and it will make sense.

The idea is to overload the welfare system with a load that it simply can't handle.

When it breaks, the uproar it causes will force the state to take over the economy, guarantee income to everybody and thus, "eliminate poverty".

In other words, socialism.

The ACA is where Obama sold out. He used a Republican concept in the hopes he could get it passed. I guess he didn't realize how hard the Repubs would fight whatever he did, no matter whether they really agreed with it or not.

The ACA reminds me of when you can't afford the real deal and settle for something else entirely. It isn't what you wanted, was a waste of time and effort...and not to mention money.

They should have not passed anything than give the people the horribly broken ACA with all its flaws.

Yet the fact remains that he has been the one to call "racism!" on any criticism he couldn't shrug off to the fault of "his predecessor" while also frequently making divisive comments like "If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon" and using jargon like "fat cats" intended to generate class warfare in America... He is the Great Divider, far more successful at that than even GW Bush was.

Do you really see it that way?

I see a homogenization of the EU where those who are protesting it happening are being threatened with arrest for hate speech. Same thing that is happening in the United States now. Being patriotic and protecting your culture is now not politically correct because your showing disrespect to those who are here illegally that don't understand our culture.

Be honest, schools have been called racist for having "Taco Day". The United States Flag is threatening to foreign students coming here for an education they can't get at home......the list could go on and on.....

So tell us again how Obama destroyed this country. Please.

Just editing to add that the usual reply is "if you can't see it or get it by now, you never will. I feel sorry for you." LOL

I profoundly remember the Crash of 2008. I agree that we could be MUCH worse off now than we are, and in part, thanks should go to the Administration.

I will never say that Obama has done everything "right" in my eyes, but the hyperbole from the Right about how he is supposedly the worst President "Ever" is completely wrong. He had major damage control when he got to office - if he was as incompetent as he is made out to be, America would be a smoking wasteland ala Road Warrior with starving masses ruled by terrorist cells, thugs and warlord enclaves. That is somewhat sarcastic, and somewhat hyperbolic, but seriously, when you hear how he is painted (literally, burning the Constitution, etc.) you would think American should look more hell-scape-ish...

peace,
AB

De-developing America was part of Obama's strategy early on. After all, he did appoint John "de-develop" Holdren science and technology czar. He and Obama are acolytes of the UN Agenda 21.

This administration has been consistent in its efforts and support of anything that works to destabilize America and implement central planning, to de-industrialize and redistribute wealth all in the name of “sustainability” brought to you by that bastion of a big one-world government, the United Nations. Yes, the same people that assign Saudi Arabia chair over the UN's Human Rights Council!

Obama wanted to fundamentally transform America and he has given it his all to do so. Thank goodness a few in Congress thwarted some of it.

Exactly. He didn't make the country perfect, it is still a LONG way off from how it should be, and he doesn't have a super stellar policy record; but to sit there with a straight face and say that the country is worse off than before he entered office is just straight up dishonest.

What wealth has been "redistributed," specifically? Aside from the obvious flow from the 99% to the 1%

Please, I would really like to know what you think of when you make a claim like that. Also, aside from the unsubstantiated theories about this "one world government" meme ... what specifically has the Obama Administration done to create a one-world government, in your opinion.

Thank you kindly for any response you care to make.

Were his first 2 year accomplishments, when he had no resistance at all, successes for the nation as a whole?

No resistance at all? Did you forget the filibusters? Did you forget that there weren't the required 60 Democratic votes needed to pass legislation?

cjonline.com...

PLEASE don't tell me you're forgetting Bernie Sanders and Joe Lieberman, "independents" who both have run for POTUS on the Democrat ticket and caucus with the Democrats in the Senate.

We only hear about those outrageous examples, 99.9% of the time nothing silly like that happens on any given day in America. When you focus on those "Taco Day" type events that happen .1% of the time, of course you're going to whip yourself up into some kind of frenzy.

Fear is an amazing tool. Fear of loosing the status quo and what we have.

The truth is that all of these media stories about "loosing the country" are statistically insignificant and blown up by the media to scare people into voting for politicians that want to retain their seats of power. The media keeps the people scared, and the politicians promise to deliver them from these threats.
